This is one of, if not, *the* greatest game I've ever played. Phenomenal story, great combat system, beautiful art direction, and amazing characters + performances. I was left completely speechless while I watched those credits. The story kept me guessing the entire time, and was, for lack of a better word, absolutely phenomenal throughout. It's absolute cinema.

Lots of pictos are good, it allows for a bunch of different builds and allows for some fun ones too, but the one and only gripe I have with the game is that the amount of pictos/luminas you get with no great way to sort them, search for them, or filter them out becomes very annoying in the end game. (Edit: 12/28/25. This has been fixed as of the 12/11 "Thank You" Update! Game's perfect now <3)

The rest of this game makes up for that one tiny problem in every way possible. A star-studded voice cast with beautiful performances from Ben Starr, Andy Serkis, Jennifer English, and the entire rest of the cast truly helped enhance this game's story and make it feel that much more real and engaging.

This game was a love letter to 90s JRPGs in the best way possible. Making the combat Final Fantasy x Sekiro was a very interesting decision, but genuinely works in the best way. It flows together so well, and heavily rewards both intelligence in build-crafting and patience from learning enemy attack patterns in order to parry all of them for a counterattack.

This game is a genuine masterpiece. I don't care if you don't like turn based games, not playing this game is depriving yourself from witnessing one of the most beautiful stories told in all of gaming.

Phenomenal game.

Nightmare difficulty (no changes to the difficulty sliders) gave me plenty of challenge that felt rewarding, and was just incredibly fun.

It's hard for me to make direct comparisons of this game to 2016 and Eternal, but this game is genuinely such a good time. Exploration was very fun and rewarding, and the upgrades to every gun, melee, and shield rune felt meaningful and made the weapons feel better.

Definitely recommend this game to people who enjoy fast paced shooters with a badass protagonist. 9/10

Phenomenal game. Absolutely 10/10.

Base game was amazing, DLCs were amazing, everything about this game is just amazing. (Can't say anything for multiplayer, I tried but couldn't find any games.)

Played on Nightmare difficulty for my first run through of base game and DLCs, and the challenge was fun, rewarding, incredibly difficult, and kept me on my toes the entire time. The game teaches you every single thing you need to master the mechanics and flow of the combat, and just like FromSoft games, expects you to learn from your mistakes, get up, and try again.

Top 10 game for me. Recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Very early in the year, but I believe a contender for game of the year. Lots of content to do, plenty of monsters to fight, even before the free title updates that provides us with more content. Optional side content such as gathering endemic life, fishing, and Gold/Mini Crown hunting are all incredibly fun to do as well.

QoL improvements for the weapons compared to World are really nice, as well as the new mechanics with Wounds, Focus Mode, Offset attacks, and Power Clashes are all fantastic!

Unfortunately at the time of writing this review, the game still isn't very optimized, but I'm hoping the optimization updates come soon!

Game is very fun, I cannot wait for more content to come out over the upcoming months!

I don't like DC and I didn't care much for the Arkham Trilogy
Game good though, story was funny and the gameplay is really fun.

Thank god I got to kill Batman, I hate that guy

One of the greatest games I have played in the past 15 years I've spent gaming. The intricacies in the combat, the absurd amount of ways you can resolve situations, and the mind boggling amount of choices you can make that affect the overarching story of the game are unlike any other game.

The story is phenomenal, the characters are all lovable and incredibly well written (even you, Gale), and exploring all 3 acts and finding out all of the fun and crazy things you can do across the game is amazing.

The tactical turn based combat is top tier and requires careful planning and strategy for the game's harder difficulties.

Worried about not being able to progress on the harder difficulties? Just wanna lay back and enjoy the story? No worries! The Explorer and Balanced difficulties allows you to do just that. If Explorer combat is too easy for you, then Balanced will give you a challenge, but not as much as Tactician or Honour mode.

Tactician and Honour difficulties is where the combat really shines in my opinion. Tactician requires you to think about what you're going to do for each encounter, and for each character's turn. It makes you really think about how you're going to engage in the current and upcoming situations. Honour mode takes this requirement and bumps it up even further by adding Legendary Actions to bosses, on top of the added stress of having one save file (that you cannot reload while you're in game, and saves ANY time you exit the game in any way, shape, or form!)

Overall, this game is absolutely deserving of every single accolade and award it's won since its launch. The developers, the voice actors, and every single member of the Larian team put their hearts and souls into this game, and you can feel the passion radiating from this game whenever you play it. This isn't a game you only buy when it's on sale, this is a game that is worth 3 times the amount you pay for it. This is a game you recommend to your friends, even if they might not like this style of game. This is a game you play with those friends, and have insane amounts of fun when you are playing together.

Very good game, 8.5/10.

Fun guns, great shooting, and awesome story telling. Unique weapons are hit or miss, most are awesome, some are lackluster. Lack of model variation for guns and melee weapons is a bummer though. The Science weapons however are all insanely fun to use, and very powerful if you create a build for them.

Again, extremely fun game, just shorter than expected. Main story is relatively short compared to similar games, but a majority of the side quests are interesting and great. The DLCs really add to this game as well. Peril on Gorgon is fun, with a decent story and good unique weapon rewards. Murder on Eridanos however is much better. Better story line, better humor, better weapons, and a much prettier world to explore. I did every single side quest, faction mission, task, and grabbed every Science weapon for both of these DLCs before I completed them. Peril on Gorgon is a solid 7.5/10, while Murder on Eridanos is a 9/10.

Highly recommend this game if you want a great game similar to Fallout, but in space!

A remake done right.

Play it if you never played the original.
A captivating story alongside amazing gameplay in the horrifying nightmare that is the USG Ishimura.

Play it if you have played the original.
The same captivating story as the original, with added details. Isaac having voice lines really adds to the story overall. Side quests that the original didn't have add some nice lore and backstory about the events that happened on the Ishimura prior to Isaac's arrival. The ability to go back to every wing of the Ishimura in order to get items you missed, or were unable to get during your first time through is such a nice touch. Not having to save power nodes in order to open certain loot rooms is BY FAR my favorite change. The lack of loading screens throughout the entire game keeps you in the action and on the edge of your seat. The updated visuals and slight changes to the Ishimura are incredible.

Genuinely fantastic game. Easily the best remake that's come out.

10/10

Story is very good, gunplay is fun, builds are great, and the bugs honestly make the game more comical. 9/10 - December 18, 2020

After Update 2.0, the Phantom Liberty expansion and the updates prior, this game secured it's spot as my all time favorite game. The world, the gameplay, the story, the characters, every single thing about this game just oozes excellence. The care and passion the devs put into their work with this game is incredibly apparent. You'll see this the moment that you get into Act 2 and are able to fully explore the world. I was never bored playing through it my first time 3 years ago, and the same can be said of my 3rd playthrough after update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty release. I love this game and this world with every fiber of my being, I am so thankful to CDPR for making such an amazing adaptation of Mike Pondsmith's world with both this game and Edgerunners. I want anyone and everyone to play this game at least once. - November 15, 2023
