It's still very rough around the edges. I started playing in alpha 2 in 2024 and the game has grown a lot since then. But its still about only 1/3rd of the way complete. It's got good bones and good ideas. It's still just a ways off with a 2027 intended full release. If you like old school style vibe and grind MMOs then there could be something here for you. Especially if you loved some of the things ArcheAge was trying to do. But again, its still rough. Really rough. But it could be something great if they pull it off. Expect wipes, expect crashes, expect down time.

At 35 hours I'm having a lot of fun. Overall, its a pretty standard survival game that takes a few spins on things to simplify but non invalidate them. It's definitely got a lot to do. Almost an ADHD nightmare at time. I'm eager to see the deep desert and get a bit more in to the MMO-lite elements.

My biggest complaint comes down to the fact that the base building feels overly simplistic. Not a lot of parts to make interesting shapes so you just have a lot of ugly gamer castles.

I've been mostly playing solo outside of my guild and it's definitely a slog once you get a little in. Bring a buddy to speed things up if that matters to you.

Also you can milk men for that sweet sweet red nectar 👍

Devs refuse to wipe and test systems they are changing. Update cycle is slow and the devs are fairly quiet with insights into their processes. We get about 1 notable blog post about every 2 months or so as to what they are working on and why.

Were sitting in the dark a lot while they spend 4 months giving people the ability to sell rocks. The only user feedback they seem to value is from those who put 2000 hours in during the first two months and don't want to lose their rocks now. Scared to run that small subset off with a wipe but not willing to test the game and fix problems to bring people back and spark interest.

Could have been something special but it feels like dev ego is going to kill it. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll get where it needs to be but I've seen this pattern enough to know where it usually goes.
