It took me around 7 years to finally complete this game. I grew up primarily on Xbox and PC, but for a short period of time I owned a PS4. During that short time, I found Persona 5 on a discount and fell very quickly in love with it. I got to the fourth palace shortly before Royal came out, and ended up having to sell said PS4. Royal came out, and i itched for a PC release hoping id get to finally see it through to the end one day. 2022 rolls around and boom, Royal on PC! I got back to exactly where I left off last time before I put the game down and started playing other things.

Come June 2025, Phantom X releases globally and despite how,,,, interesting,,, that release went, it reminded me of the playthrough of Royal i never finished. Next thing you know, I pick it right back up and force myself to relearn all the mechanics I forgot and catch up with 75 hours of story. Through my continuation of my old save, I not only got to finish experiencing the story I never let myself see, I got to reflect on the person I was when I first got my hands on this game again. The confidants I chose to spend time with that current me wouldnt bat an eye at, the horrible item and skill choices I would never settle on now, so much. It's weird how much you can recall about yourself based off of some odd choices you made in a video game years ago.

An unmatched art style, gorgeous and revolutionary UI design, an unforgettable soundtrack that will permanently alter your music taste, lovable characters you'd have to fight to forget, and a story that delves deep into battling hardships on any scale, no matter the size.

Of all games to take me down memory lane, I'm glad its this one. I'm proud to say I beat Persona 5.
