I bought this game with the intention of running a tavern business with a friend of mine. We did the tutorial, which took about 90 minutes, only to find out that the multiplayer was bugged — couldn't find a way to join each other. Tried multiple systems, different hosts, etc, no budge. Things kept freezing and locking up for both of us in different ways... the menu would freeze, the multiplayer feature would just send us to a single-player file, and things would just altogether not respond to interaction until I opened the menu to reset the GUI — and I promise it wasn't a computer issue. Both of us were running into similar issues in different ways.

For a game that's been released for almost 5 years now, it's riddled with bugs and clearly lacks thorough feature testing. I'd love to play this game once the devs get it figured out.

Overall, this game is welldone. It is still one of my childhood favorites and I have been familiar with the game (and Maxis) since 2009 when it first came out. It's very similar to the gameplay of soon-to-be "No Man's Sky", just not as complex. Unfortunately, after the civilization stage is where the game starts going downhill for myself. I understand there is a lot more to do, but it's very overwhelming and rather confusing in the space stage.
Other than that, everything else is perfectly fine.
