98% positive reviews to this date should say it all, but I feel I want to give my two cents anyway. Being a pretty hardcore retro gamer from time to time, I absolutely love the occasional new-age-pixel-retro-fests, like Risk of Rain, Hotline Miami, and Towerfall Ascension

But this game just nails the retro-ambience on all levels, I want to higlight the music composed by Jake Kaufman which is pure 10/10 for my chip tune-heart, and the game itself is also immensly satisfying. I believe you don´t even have to be familiar with the old NES-classics to appreciate the tight controls, attention to graphic detail (albeit in a retro-way), and the fun of progressing in a game that really tests your skills and at the same time motivates you to play through. I can't really remember the last time i played a game this way - i believe it is kind of the same experience i had playing Kirby´s Adventure on my NES back the christmas of ´94. And for a new game to be able to provoke such a kid-like joyous, nostalgic experience in a 30 year old guy is something worth applauding.

And shovels, heh, dirt, heh, buried 10/10 and all the other fun things to joek about.
