Really tight and polished deck builder with interesting mechanics. Up there with StS and MT2.

Plays well and I can see the in-run mechanic being interesting in longer runs.

Horrible bugs tied to core engine 'updates' that break the core game. (SotS DLC release week 1)
New stages and music are great. New items are so-so. Only 1 of 3 new characters (Seeker) feels complete. FPS above 60FPS can introduce core game breaking bugs.

Game is pretty early on right now (Sep. 2023) and lacks many basic features and QoL features.
There's currently no options menu in game or volume control?
No debuff icons on enemies for some kits that rely on debuffs.
No listing timers for many abilities.
Some skills shoot in direction or character or mouse, but did not seem consistent.

Game difficulty definitely rewards knowledgeable play and 'power gaming'. Things like scouting a lot or only killing when time efficient. Some will like this and for others it will be a massive turn off.

CrossCode is really amazing for what it is and feels like some weird PSO style game from the early 2000s in a good way.
I really enjoyed the world and characters and combat in the game and you can make the puzzles easier as well if you want to speed things up a bit.
