If you're a fan of Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, this game will scratch that same kind of strategy itch, just not in the same way. Pretty unique method of control lends itself to gameplay that keeps players interested.

The game is still in development, but it's SO CLOSE.

Shogun 2 is hands down one of the best RTS games I've ever played and, in my opinion, one of the best RTS games period. The gameplay, meta game, mechanics, and overall feel of the game just tie together so well. And the MUSIC. OH MY GOD. You feel the pain of your troops dying, the tension of your ninja sneaking into an enemy fort, the overwhelming swell of victory as you charge through their lines of yari samurai. This game is not only fun, it shows you a rich period of history not commonly covered in textbooks and gives the player the understanding of the great sacrifices and strifes associated with war.

I wish multiplayer campaigns could be played with more than two people. But this is otherwise a perfect experience.

Being there while the game was in development. Watching it go through it's Kick Starter. Seeing the Air Brawl Sub Reddit community be born. Having good laughs with other players during playtesting.

It was like watching a child grow up.

What WIlnyl has created is a fun game enjoyable by anyone who plays it no matter their skill level or disposition. And I haven't seen that since the time long ago when I played competitive TF2.
