Its Oblivion.. masterpiece for its time.

Remaster is very well done.

Didn't come with out its problems.. like the typical Bethesda game.. But also with some UE5 remastered Jank.

Didn't stop me from blasting through and enjoying for 60 hours though. Thanks for bringing back something I didn't know I wanted to remember.

Update: 700+ hours after .3 patch. A lot of things in the right direction. Trading and crafting feel so good I enjoy it very much. Game is running pretty poorly on my system and I have really good hardware.. def needs work in that realm. Overall .3 is really good and I have high hopes for PoE2's final form.

Update: 400+ hours in and after the new hotfix they have addressed nearly all my complaints or made me confident they eventually will address the remaining complaints. This game is on track for glory. TLDR play this game now!

Path of Exile 2 is almost everything I want it to be and it's not even finished yet. It's in it worst version of its self and that's okay because I have faith GGG will make this game into a golden Masterpiece. I have a lot of time spent in the first game and now 170 hours in the 2nd one. The foundation of this game is solid and GGG can only move up from here.

Pros:
~WASD, feels amazing and I don't know if I can go back to poe1 with out it
~Skill gems (This will also be listed as a con in my con section) feel so much better in most ways. I much prefer the UI of gems existing outside of gear sockets and using jewler orbs to upgrade them. See cons for my issue with this system
~Bosses are god tier -- fights feel super good. I really love the design of bosses and they need to lean into it more
~Story is good so far (uncomplete so can't give it a full point on that)
~Fun to play -- I actively enjoy the combat and mechanics
~Currency exchange npc, i can never go back to trading currency on the website like in poe1

Cons:
~On death effects.. i hate them. There is too many of them and they aren't clearly telegraphed in most cases
~Some maps are just too big and suck to complete
~Trials are oppressively challenging and getting my 4th ascendancy was a very large chore, even after they nerfed it
~Defense balance is off in endgame, we do not have a proper amount of attributes/defenses/offenses available to us with out extremely good gear or just busted builds that will likely get fixed soon anyways
~Atlas feels bad sometimes, it was better after they prevented you from blocking routes entirely, but parts of it still feel clunky and weird. I can't quite put my thumb on that one yet
~One portal death maps -- just don't dig it. feels bad and sucks. I'll learn to live with it if its really their vision but I'm not into it.
~Lack of agency in some ways. Alteration orbs.. scouring orbs.. certain QoL that they have omitted from first one. I think eventually we'll see these? Maybe? Depends on their vision. I'd certainly like some of this back, but I get they have to be careful about pandora's box with player agency
~Towers are boring, I don't like running the same layout every time i get to one. Change this system some how (you don't need to scrap it, it just needs work)
~Skill gems have this weird con. I love everything about them except you can't use them to over level the content. This is really important for HC
~I miss parts of PoE 1-- This isn't the games fault. Its new and has to compete against 10 years of polished dev work in poe 1, delve and certain activities such as that are sorely missed

This game rocks, I solidly believe on release this game is going to kick ass and only get better. Its at its lowest point and it already is really amazing. I 100% have faith GGG will take this game to next levels. In a lot of ways it will be really difficult to ever play Path of Exile 1 with out some of these wonderful evolutions to the industry.

I'd like to note, I've heard a lot of problems with game stability and crashing and other such issues. I have been on the lucky end of it all and haven't experienced these issues. GGG should address these as soon as possible, but its also to some degree excusable.. its clearly early access and labelled as such.. comes with the territory.
