Devs are a buncha redditors who are forcing "verified" server owners to ban anyone they disagree with. Vanilla TF2's free speech is a perfect system that doesn't need sanitization. Disagree with someone? Call them out on their ♥♥♥♥. Is someone being an asshat? Mute em. Is someone genuinely harassing another user? That's what the server owners appointed moderators are for.

You know what happens when someone spams slurs in voice chat? 3 other people turn on their mic and keep them in check for being antisocial without having anything of substance to say.

Serviceable game, terrible fallout entry. I'd recommend you buy New Vegas ultimate and use the viva new vegas modding guide to bring the game to modern standards and to give it some necessary stability. You can even automate the modding process with wabbajack if you're lazy.
