Early Access Review
Brilliant. In early access but game is more than playable and feels like a full title already

I supported Enforcer during its infancy, when it was actually known as Police Tactics. The developers were friends of mine on a forum, and I eagerly expected the release. The trailers provided a great insight into what we could be doing when the game was officially released; however, it seems the actual product wasn't really portrayed very well.

Enforcer: Police Crime Action delivers a fun and different experience with its gameplay:
You have an off duty lifestyle, tied into the game with an actual need (Stress level). While it's not really superbly fun and you can't spend more than a few hours off duty before getting bored, it's a cool feature.

Being on duty involves multiple 'tasks' in which you do not have to finish but increase your career points, leading to promotions. These tasks can be anything from pulling over a required amount of vehicles within a certain amount of time to call-outs, robberies and drunks being just a few.

Vehicle customization is a neat addition, offering four different vehicles (two are unlocked via secret codes, obtained by registering your game) all with their own liveries. Lightbars, light colours and wheel types are also some of the changeable options.

To experience the features, you really must watch a gameplay. Of course, being a police officer, a day is never the same, and you have to watch someone play it to see this.

Of course, as it's only a first release, bugs are to be expected, but this game has started very poorly. Driving needs a hell of a lot of fine-tuning, it feels clunky and not at all fluid. The entire game is sort of clunky; it plays very much the indie game it is. If you're looking for an LCPD:FR contender, you're not going to find it. LCPD:FR expanded on a triple A game engine, fully developed and rounded off by Rockstar; Odin Game Studio has built this game from the ground up and it stands as a completely different game. LCPD:FR has the advantage of calling in backup, more vehicles, an urban environment, backup, etc, whereas Enforcer is somewhat primitive in this approach, featuring no backup and only a crude radio to call in prisoner transport (this is executed via a loading screen), but I feel after many updates the realism will shoot up, making the game a more immersive experience than it currently is.

The usual bugs are found, odd animations, cars flying everywhere, but these don't really affect gameplay too much (they did on the first release; gunfights were a mess!),, and provide a few laughs. It is a bit annoying, though.

As it stands, Enforcer: Police Crime Action needs a lot of work, but if we do get that, it could easily be worth its £14.99 asking price.
