The Dsync actually ruins it so hard I don't understand why it happens so often, you get shot around corners by arcs from, from players you die randomly by being teleported in front of where you are or behind when you thought you were and the same for other players doing it to you. In the last 10 matches before I wrote this, in 4 matches I either got hit round corners or hit players I really shouldn't have been able to hit.

It feels like its been the last 2 days that I've been hit with hard Dsync and it has genuinely been a miserable experience every match I get it.

For some reason IOI have decided to write no contents for their DLC pages so when you buy the Hitman 1 GOTY content you dont actually get the Hitman 1 GOTY content. I dont even know what the ♥♥♥♥ i just bought is since the game hasnt told me either. Thank god for steam refunds though.

Disclaimer I do not have Edge of fate so this is only a review for whats currently in the game before it and in the QOL update that's came out with Edge of fate.

The base experience currently is middling with some actually good content like all the D1 raids for free and the dungeons that were featured in the Rite of the nine event a few weeks before this review was written. But the non pinnacle PvE content is just heavily devoid of reason to play it. Even with the new portal system which is seemingly made to fix that issue has the same problems (at least when this is written) to get 100 power level for instance you just have to experience a slow and repetitive cycle of either encore or some random lost sector that they are running as the solo ops to get any form of fast levelling. If you try to do crucible instead the queue times are abysmal and you'll end up only getting maybe 2 or 1 or 2 higher power level per gear for often longer time than a PvE mission.

I'm sure once you get to 200 power level, completed the new campaign and have all the new gear to do those higher level portal choices where you can gain seasonal power some fun could be found but for anyone who wants that difficult content but doesn't have 20 hours free a day to play the game or isn't min maxing its just time gating the experience. And when in ~ 50 days its a new season and this issue repeats with people being shot back down to 200 power level whats the actual game play cycle going to be. Just the average player only hitting a high power level maybe 2 or 3 weeks before the season ends just to get hit in the face with everything you've done being useless again. I can't understand why last year there was a more flat power level with only a little bit of game play to do to get back to a cap every season and those seasons were nearing 100 days long but now we will have the power limit that we should have had last year for those 100 days put into half the time with what seemingly looks like no actual regular activities you want to replay.

I went into this only because it was on sale, i didn't think it was a good game prior to playing since i had seen so much claiming it was simply a walking sim. The real game however is not a great masterpiece game but it still isn't bad, it has time for story enthusiasts and enough (whilst mediocre) variation in game-play to bring none story people back for more.

Game-play; It has some good creative moments which rewards a player for either thinking outside of the box for certain areas. However most of those moments happen to progress story more than actually being common in real play time. For instance at a few parts of the game you don't get told what to do and just have to think about the mechanics that you are already used to and how you can utilise them. In actual free roam game-play however, it is very repetitive and once you have the right gear BT's wont be an issue nor will mules. Even without gear you wont have issues with enemies none of the boss fights are really that amazing and none have difficult mechanics or engaging moments. They just work as a way to break up the game between combat and package delivery. On package delivery it is exactly what you would think it was going to be except honestly that is the best part of the game-play since its natural and it just works. Game-play is a 6/10 at best and i think anyone would agree with that.

Story; Its great if you want a more expansive lore where you have to read up the interesting parts. The actual spoken story is full of exposition and very cliche moments, but it works out well with the fact you feel very in the world of Death Standing and don't see any tonal issues between dialog and actual story beats. Without spoiling anything i really recommend playing Death Stranding if you are a fan of story based games. It is the best part of the game as i say a 8/10.

Really bad dlc but you need it for a portion of the content in D2 so its way better and cheaper to just get it with the legendary edition of the game.
