An excellent game to play when you've got atleast one player in voice chat being constructive or have a friend in VC to coordinate with. Your fun will REALLY vary on how much your team chooses to work together.

In pubs, it's a miserable experience playing with mic-less lights who run in, die, feed and then increase your respawn timer by being oblivious to the team's respawn timers. With friends though? The game becomes an absolute blast where you come up with strategies on the fly

Got to say "Yeah, ladders only take us up in life" before my friend accidentally crushed my head with it immediately afterwards

Starts off extremely strong, then unfortunately peters out in the level design in some aspects. The upgrade system also seems a bit arbitrary and tacked on, but overall the game is pretty promising.

Presentation wise, the game is great - it feels good to play and the shooting mechanics are pretty well defined. You get a few movement options, albeit a few out of place like sliding or jumping kicking. Neither really serve a purpose other than making traversal a bit more interesting and don't really seem to factor into combat which is a shame.

Level design starts off strong in the first few levels before quickly petering out. The last few maps are quite literally just huge open rooms where enemies have no possible way to react to or pose any sort of threat to you, as enemy AI seems to only respond if they're situated in much closer combat encounters. Last levels just scream lazy when enemies are just set up for set dressing and not in anyway meant to pose a threat to you.

You quickly get absurdly overpowered with the upgrade system in this game, which quickly breaks the balance. You hold too much ammo, your weapons do ungodly amount of damage after certain upgrades, and the enemies don't really escalate much in response to your overpowered weaponry. I seriously think the game would be better if the arbitrary upgrade system were axed from the game, and perhaps have ammo be halved on some weapons.

The game shows and feels that it's made by one person which kind of cripples it, I'd really advise for the developer to seek talented mappers to help elevate this game - lots of enemy types get squandered because of questionable level design.

This is nothing like Dark messiah, don't let some of the positive reviews fool you. Dark Messiah was all about being pragmatic and using the environment to your advantage to outwit enemies and make unfair fights more even. This game has nothing of the sort, combat also felt incredibly basic. Swinging the weapons around and using your boot also felt very floating and frankly unfun to use. I'm not impressed when a majority of the first level's enemies have very unsatisfying deaths when you go to kick them off ledges.

All in all, it's probably a way more arcadey take on melee combat games where you rack up scores and killstreaks. I prefer my melee fights more involved and drawn out. Look for something else if you're looking for a game that scratches the Mordhau/PVKii/Dark Messiah itch

Incredibly good, more combat-focused and feels like an extremely lite verison of something like Dragon's Dogma in terms of combat.

The need for sustinence is more for battle-related buffs. You'll never die from starvation, however, its still extremely necessary as your maximum health is determined by your hunger bar being full or not, food usually gives you combat-related buffs. The devs seem to want to stray away frm conventional Survival-game mechanics, so food spoilage and adding 'busywork' doesn't seem too likely.

Overall, an extremely good survival game. Will stand up to the other titans in the genre once the game gets flooded with more and more content updates. What's here now is good, and the loop is already extremely addicting.

Bethesda to this day, still quietly tries to discredit this game in spite of Obsidian coming along and making a game on their engine with their bought ip, that trumps any writing and gameplay Bethesda managed to put out. All while quickly developed in under a year, too.

An instanced shooter that I can just jump in and play with friends anytime with unique builds and a huge variety of weapons is pretty big, and not many other games really fill the need for being an easily accessible FPS game that feels buttery smooth to play.

Its a huge bonus that you don't have to spend a freaking millenia getting to the action or navigating menus to tune the settings to your liking. The game runs smooth, and really emphasizes just how important a buttery smooth experience is for an FPS game, easy to maintain high frames and plays like a responsive shooter should. Built by devs that seemingly understand how an option's menu for an FPS game should look (independent scope sensitivity, easily rebound buttons, no freaking aim acceleration, etc)

Cheap as beans, too. You could easily talk a friend into trying it out with you for under 15 bucks.

A decent game with a not so great gameplay loop. Painfully average, which is a curse a lot of open-world free-roam games tend to have.

You're overpowered to hell and back, all of your throwables and the heavy fire-power makes absolute mince-meat out of enemy confrontations, which leads into the problem of the game simply never giving you enough enemies to warrant the amount of power you have. If you want to keep the game from being repetitive for just a bit longer, don't opt into stealth. Seriously, it kills any sort of challenge the game has, stay away from silencers, too.

You almost wouldn't need AI partners if dying in this game wasn't so frustrating with load-times, and how squishy you tend to be. Having just one to pick you up from stupid deaths is okay, but they tend to make an already game even easier. Game seriously suffers from how barren it tends to be, and while you beef up with perks and craftables, the challenge never rises; so you're facing the same mooks that pile in 6-7 at a time and the mission completes. If they just threw in a plethora of enemies at you every now and then instead of sprinkling in just 2-3 at a time, it'd be a lot more compelling; some of the most fun moments is when they actually DO that while holding a defense on a spot. This situation comes way too sparsely though.

Game looks beautiful and the animations are all pretty to look at in motion, but I feel like your character is way too sticky and eager to bust into an animation that takes control away from you though. Accidentally climbing something for the hundreth time and having control taken away from me gets very old very quickly.

Avoid flying during combat, makes the game too easy. Especially avoid swimming if you don't want to kill yourself with how SLOW it is.

I only bought the game just for the fishing and nothing else, 6/10. Buy it on sale, don't pay full price. Its Far cry 3/4 with a fresher coat of paint.

If you want a more compelling 'open-world' experience that gives heavy incentive to explore, and not feel so mundane and repetitive while maintaining a challenge, I urge you to give STALKER a look instead. Go look it up on steam, it goes on sale frequently for beans.
