Early Access Review
Played for the 2nd time during free weekend, it's progressed a solid amount imo since launch. I bought it on launch because I loved the first game growing up and it was just a buggy mess that couldn't reach higher than 60fps on a mid-high end pc and the combat was super boring considering these are the devs for Chivalry 2.
Now the game actually seems to be in a decent spot where the combat is reworked and a bit more fleshed out, there's 2 new maps and quite a few nice additions. The game is definitely moving in the right direction and at a good pace. On launch I knew it was going to be a mess and it just needed time to cook and it's very well getting there, the gameplay loop is pretty damn fun. There are still some issues like zombie spawns being weird, but with time these things will be fixed, compared to the launch this actually feels like a playable and fun early access

So glad it's back on Steam, people need to READ the description above about the Free-To-Play version before they review bomb such an amazing game. I love extraction games and Dark and Darker is a close 2nd on my list of best ones.

I have about 800 hours pre-steam release since PT2

I'm so used to playing shooters but DnD takes it to a whole new level with the focus on melee combat and spell casting mixed with the dungeon exploring and extracting is really damn fun. The PvE mobs can become pretty difficult for newcomers but once you learn the enemies and their attack patterns you just have to avoid them. Plenty of videos online of all the mobs or you could just find out the hard way like a lot of us did

The developers for this game are VERY passionate and super in tune with the community, they try to be as transparent as can be and game breaking bugs are typically fixed pretty fast. I love what they are doing here and hope to support them to make the best game I've ever played.

GENIUS idea for a horror game, the best part is watching back the footage you made it out with. Though a way to watch it even if you died would be dope, or maybe even finding other people's cameras that you can watch back too

Been looking for a major fighting game to get into the last few years, SF6 didn't really look appealing (especially with only 18 characters on launch) and Tekken 8 IMMEDIATELY caught my eye, graphics looks AMAZING especially compared to the older Tekken games.

Learning the ropes of Tekken wasn't too difficult, there are a lot of tools in the game that help (though some of them are hidden behind menus and the game doesn't really tell you) With how many different moves and "just frame" inputs there are it seems Tekken is one of those easy to pick up but hard to master games.

The soundtrack for Tekken is IMMACULATE, the jukebox is also a really cool thing that lets you replace stage and menu music with any song from previous Tekken games (even though I've never played them I found some BANGERS)

As my first fighting game, I don't think I could've picked a better game. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I come home after a long day of emotional, physical, mental, and sexual abuse, and this game is the only thing I look forward to. 10/10

When I pre-purchased the game this morning, I was sitting in my seat staring at the sale end timer for it to hit 0 and for me to be able to download the game. I've been looking forward to this game FOREVER, I can legitmitely say that Telltale's The Walking Dead series are in my top 3 games I've EVER played. Now onto the review.

SPOILER ALERT! (Obviously)

Episode 1:
I jumped into the episode seeing stuff I already knew from the launch trailer and afterwards I see that I'm playing as Javier now. Honestly, my first impression was that I thought playing as Javier was gonna be boring (I was hoping I'd play as Clem first, but you do get to take control of her occasionally) but I was wrong. Javier brings a fresh new personality to the mix that you're used to in TWD. I enjoyed playing as him and slowly am starting to feel emotionally attached (Almost there). As always I feel like my choices do in fact matter (Side note: You can obviously import your decisions from TWD Season 2, which I did.). I'm also loving the graphics upgrade, everything looks nicer but still has that unique Telltale look that all their games has. Back to the game, I was super immersed in the game. I was streaming the first 2 episodes and found myself not talking as much and just letting the story play out, and that's okay. The episode ended on a pretty good cliff hanger but I wasn't too worried as they released the first 2 episodes anyway. Also during episode 1, we met Clem and little later on we got a peek into what happened between now and the end of Season 2. It all depends on what decisions you generated in their story generator if you didn't import saves from last season. Overall, loved the first episode and got me super excited for the coming ones.

Episode 2:
Second episode opened up with another blast from the past, this time from Javier's story line including Kate and David. After that scene, it cuts to present time depending on what decision you made to either stay with Clem and fight or leave with your family. Now I'm not gonna talk about my personal decisions because people will obviously disagree so yeah, do whatever you did. This episode was full of decisions where I had to actually pause the game and actually think on my decisions, this is actually a good thing. I want my decisions to be the smartest choice for me personally so I take my time and think on it, which in turns makes me SUPER immersed in the game and world itself. Later on in the episode I was excited to see a familiar face. For those of you who are caught up with AMC's The Walking Dead, recognize Jesus (Paul) popping up towards the end of the episode. Honestly I just assumed Jesus in the game is like how his TV show counterpart is, so I trusted him. Maybe a bad choice, maybe not. One of the highlights in this episode was honestly the end. Again, I already stated there's spoilers so I'll just say it. You end up finding out that the leader of "The New Frontier" is Javier's brother David, now in the previous episodes, it is unknown what happens to Javier's family after the whole Dad chews off Mom's face dilemma. And it was just a HUGE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to me and it left me EVEN MORE hyped for the next 3 episodes. I just hope Telltale takes their time with the rest of the series and either A: Has a good conclusive ending. or B: Teases a Season 4 possibly(?). So overall, loved the first 2 episodes. Really looking forward to the rest and will always be a passionate fan of Telltale's TWD.

Listen, honestly. Before the update, I had a decent amount of fun with the game because of it being this awesome new space-exploration & survival game. It was fun for about the first 3-4 hours and then it started getting repetitive and nothing was enjoyable anymore, all the planets felt the same, fauna and flora also felt similar. So I stopped playing it and didn't end up refunding it.

Fast forward 4 months later, they released the Foundation Update (1.1) and it honestly filled a lot of what I thought was empty about the game. The planets look more varied, you'd find some barren planets and then you'd find some beautiful lush planets (Some of the barren planets are very pretty though, mind you.) The biggest new addition in my opinion has to be the base building. I'm personally not very creative when it comes to base building, however, the building mechanics are REALLY simple and easy to use. The resources you mainly need to build is Iron, and that's abundunt in space asteroids and on most planets. I've been playing this update for around 10 hours now and I'm still having so much discovering new things and upgrading my base.

Lastly, the three new modes introduced are Normal, Survival, and Creative. NMS has defintely upped the difficulty of the game and my first experience was in Survival, and man oh man, let me tell you. In Survival, they start you about a 10 minute walk away from your ship and you have to repair it AND make your way towards it and it's just hell. I died around 8 times trying to get there and once I got there, I felt so rewarded to finally get off my radiation filled planet. There's other features of Survival that make it super difficult, but you should play the game and find out for yourself.

I can honestly say this game is starting to finally shape itself into the game I wanted it to be originally (Excuse the name pun) and hopefully they don't leave us in the dirt for 4 months again and THEN release an update. I want Sean Murray and Hello Games to communicate with us and make this game what it was meant to be.

TL;DR: Game is much harder and base building is just great, three new modes (Normal, Survival, and Creative) were introduced and they're fantastic. Sean and Hello Games are finally starting to make this game to what people wanted it to be. If you don't already own the game, I wouldn't suggest buying it JUST YET (If you have the money, go for it) Just wait a little til more updates get released and see if you can trust them again.

This game. Oh god this game. There has been so many times where I've almost broken my tiny little PS4 controller. But this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing, I have no other words. The difficulty is insane but once you finally beat that one boss that you struggled with forever, you feel as if you've just taken the most massive ♥♥♥♥ you've ever taken and feel so accomplished. Highly recommended.
