The game is horribly buggy, and honestly, I can't bother to 100% it because some of the achievements don't even show up. The game desperately needs a run button in the Action RPG segments, plus audio controls.

It's a fun idea executed very poorly and in a way that is not fun.

Early Access Review
Omelet You Cook is a fantastic roguelike experience, similar in many ways to titans of the genre like Balatro, but with a more skill-based system of assembling ingredients under a time limit. The team is rolling out updates on the regular, and the added mechanical complexity only makes the game more fun. Additions such as mold and fire have really changed the formula, and the interplay between these elements is masterful.

While I do recommend Crystal Project for the fun that I've had with it, there are a few glaring issues that make the game less fun for me.

I do not like Quintar Racing, but it's unavoidable if I want to complete all of the content. The reasons that I dislike it are fairly simple: (a.) playing on a keyboard feels clunky and unresponsive, (b.) one small mistake means that you're in immediate last place unless you find some sort of shortcut / exploitative way to get into first place, and (c.) my Quintars just won't breed. Both of them are happy and have completed races, but they won't breed until I beat more of the races and unlock more of the content. Which would be fine if it didn't feel like fire ants on my skin to slog through.

I respect the creative vision and the passion that has gone into the work, but I've had a horrible time with the late game simply because of how unfair it all feels. I'm playing on Normal mode, but it feels like I have to find some sort of exploit or spend a couple hours grinding to get anywhere. It doesn't help that I pidgeonholed myself into RPG archetypes that mean that most of my characters only use either MP or AP and not a mixture of both.

Overall, 8/10 for the early to mid game, 4/10 for the late game optional content.

I've yet to beat the game itself, but due to burnout with the optional content, I may just leave it there and move on to greener pastures so the game doesn't leave a sour flavor in my mouth by the end of it.

Speaking personally, CK3 is much more approachable than CK2. Undoubtedly, I'd like to return to CK2 at some point with a fresh perspective; however, the DLC barrier of CK2 is undeniable for newcomers.
