I adore this game. I recommend it to everyone, with the assumption they have the time investment for it. I have clocked 1100 hours at the time of writing, and have not even gotten to touch current expansion content yet, which in most cases and games, is a downside. however, this is an RPGMMO, and puts emphasis on the RPG aspects first. I have grown to love and cherish the story and characters of this game, having cried multiple times from main story quests and sidequests. with that said, this game is a slow burn game. the worst part of the story is the beginning, and the beginning doesnt end until you hit heavensward, which may take upwards from 20-100ish hours. for me, a certain ice trial was the turning point for me to start caring about the story, and I am so glad I did.

if you do not have the patience to slog through the beginning, do not play. find someone who has played on youtube and watch the story from there like a TV show, theyre is plenty of content like that.

If you do have the patience, or have played other MMOs, youll be pleasantly rewarded with your time investment with an enthralling story, and an MMO that wants you to take your time with it rather than speeding to the current content. play at your own pace.

as for the MMO side of things, I have made so many friends playing this game, completely naturally just from joining a new player friendly FC (guild/clan system). there is plenty of social events, difficult group content, grinds, crafting, and more to enthrall your ADHD brains. by the time you get to stormblood, youll start to get a taste of raiding content, mount grinds, housing, crafting, social events, and all sorts of other fun ways to spend your time if you need a break from the main story.

This game is a refreshing and sobering experience, and has changed my life for the better. I have made lifelong friends, tempered previous friends through nights of mount farming + drinking, and always having something to do. I could not ask for a better game experience if I wanted to, even if the gameplay and visuals itself dont hold up to modern standards.

I have spent a majority of my life playing hero shooters, and in a modern gaming scene, marvel rivals stands out among the slop. free to play, all characters, skins are less than 20 dollars usually, infinite time on battle passes, events with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, monthly updates, new maps, and characters on a monthly basis. the art, lore, animation style is what other hero shooters strive to be.

the best open world game ive ever played, ambiguous enough to let me discover everything but gives enough info on what i need to do overall, wouldnt have it any other way.

best social game ive played in ages. ive made a ton of friends. however, every other thing in this game has some sort of game breaking bug that prevents major game mechanics. I believe the game will live for a long time, but maybe hold off a few patches for the gamebreaking bugs to get patched or just try leveling at this point

I play mostly shooters, mobas, and dungeon crawl games. ive played other strategy civ games like civ 6, paradox games and such, and I always come back to civ 6. the game keeps me entertained and captivated, all the while i feel in control of the sandbox worlds that I play. each civ has a drastic change in playstyles, which keeps the game fresh. I highly recommend at least trying out this game.

fun empathy simulator

Im not much of a dungeon crawler fan, but holy hell does this game keep me coming back. the art style, gameplay, characters, all of it. it just feels right. there hasnt been one thing about this game that has me annoyed other than my lack of skill to beat the game. every run I just come back for more, and dont even get me started on this fire soundtrack!
