Crazy fun with a few problems. Car customization is kind of unnecessarily confusing and there's quite a lot of maps but they tend to repeat for some reason. Also, on such a small game a map editor or workshop would have been really nice.
Too bad no one plays. Get it with friends

The gameplay is wonderfull, it take everything world did good and made it better, expanding a lot of combo options and allowing for a much higher degree of creative freedom when it comes to fighting. The monsters are cool and varied enough, though I'm really hoping for a massive difficulty spike in the dlc, because right now the game is absolutely too easy for anyone that has played any monster hunter game before, which is my first criticisme. Why should fans of the franchise wait one to two years before having an enjoyable game ?
The weapon skins look good, and the fact that layered weapons were integrated into the base game instead of waiting for the DLC is a good point.
But then there's the bugs and the poor optimisation. The game can run on playstation and xbox. The fact that most PCs can't run the game at all is a disgrace. The fact that even high end rigs regularly underperform and/or have issues, such as stuttering, screen tearing, frame drops, hell the fact that mid-high end rigs NEED frame gen JUST to pass the 100 fps mark make this game garbage.
The content is great, the absolute mess it is in + the price + the fact that the franchise is now two decades old + the MASSIVE company behind it makes it crap. If a game this good with these issues was published by a small team for half or a third of the price everything would be tolerated. But it isn't.
Come back in two or three years, either monster hunter will be dead and you'll get this game for cheap or capcom will have learned from their mistakes. lmao.

The game is great, good gameplay and all that, everything you would expect from a souls like. Bunch of stupid problems, like no labels on weapons, so unless you remember by heart the 300+ weapons of elden ring you might have to test out during a boss fight if two weapons can be powerstanced, or if some glaive looking weapon might or might not be a halberd or a spear or a greatspear, or really small ultra greatswords that don't powerstance with sorta big greatswords even though they look exactly alike. But that's nitpicking, it's not that big a deal, though it would be a really great QOL addition. Just a small line.
Or item stacking that's seriously way too low, making using common items suck as jars or boluses take too much precious time to be worth it. Or enemy variety that's really, REALLY low. It's the same as in elden ring, no additions from old souls games, and most of the bosses you'll find roaming around are pretty tame and repetitive. The game would benefit from a much larger pool of roaming bosses, and at least some new common enemies.
Then there's the sorta big problems, like the randomness of relics and how you can't reroll or modify any of them at all, so it's 100% pure RNG and a grindfest, though remembrances and bosses give you some of the best relics for each character, so what's the point ? Remembrences, now there's a problem : you won't be getting to do any if you have a shifting earth event, as you'll need to be matched with people that have the same event and don't have a remembrance AND you only get a 1/3 chance of being the host. Just in general, why do people only get matched with other people with the same earth shifting event ? The fact they only appear after beating a nightlord also makes you really notice the fact that the map is really bland.
Then there's the lack of variety in bosses, in surprise events (they're there, and they're awesome, but there's very, VERY few and they only appear VERY occasionnaly).
All that is just a bit of criticism for a very good game that will require either a few content updates or lowering it's price to 20-30 bucks to be really worth it. But there's also bugs. They were really annoying in at launch, there's still quite a few, and they're bugs that you really shouldn't be getting from such a big studio.
Of course, this will all be fixed. A majority in a few weeks, the rest in a few months, as it usualy goes. So for the people that will be playing for these next few weeks/months, the experience is soured.
If you're from the future and reading this, it's definitely worth it. If you're in the present or the not-so-far-off future, then wait a WHILE.
P.S. : every bug is annoying. But stuttering during night bosses is just unfair. It's not annoying, it makes you want to stop playing this stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Why are you even trying when you actualy can't play.
Edit : Everdark adel is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. "jUsT leArn hiS MovSet" no ♥♥♥♥, I've played dark souls before, but a 45 min run back to the boss ? Now that's some next level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
New edit : the game has been out MONTHS and it has NEVER ran WORSE. Not ONE boss without massive stuttering, nightreign bosses are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SLIDESHOWS. ♥♥♥♥ this game, it is not worth 40e, it is not worth ANYTHING because you can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PLAY IT

Civ 6's mechanics are about as deep as a piss pudle. The AI is braindead and won't be a challenge on any game type other than domination. The grievance system seems nice, until you realise that it's pretty much useless to the player and once you start "grieving" one ai, every single one hates you forever and ever.
War is the only way you're going to get any kind of challenge in this game, and it's like playing one of those auto-farming mobile games. You wait until you have more production and bum rush the AI, or wait until you have units that are more advanced technologicaly then you bum rush the AI, or wait until you have an alliance then you bum rush your neighbouring AI. Fighting a war on multiple fronts seems fun, until you realise what a slog it is. The rock/paper/scissors system is busted, not giving nearly enough of an advantage to incentivise you to actualy use it, or build proper armies, or even strategise. Bum rush your enemy, take cities in 2-5 turns or either the AI will cheat and turn the tables on you or the game will grind to a slow, extremely simple point and click game.
There are no long term strategies, building tall is objectively worse in nearly all scenaries ESPECIALY if you choose to include the loyalty system, there is virtualy no ressource management, there is no point in strategizing. The AI cheats and has the IQ of a 12 year old call of duty player : if you're strong, denounce you but do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If you're weak, declare a surprise war (which omehow doesn't reflect poorly on them), bum rush you then spam peace offers every other turn when you don't lie down and die.
The game is a full step down from CIV 5. On top of that, the 2k launcher was ♥♥♥♥, the game asking you to accept the new terms and conditions every time you launch it is ♥♥♥♥, the ludicrous amount of paid DLC is ♥♥♥♥, the civs in and of themselves are meh at best and overall complete ♥♥♥♥. I mean, one of the biggest american cities has a french name for god's sake. Yes, it's important to their culture. And yes, as a french man I'm happy to see my culture's influence. But it's been blown out waaay out of proportion.
The workshop is okay though.

Black Skylands is a pretty cool indie game with a whole lot of personnality. The aesthetic and concept are incredibly well executed, and the gameplay is pretty good, a bullet hell suprisingly similar to hotline miami. In fact, I think this game could be perfectly characterized as a mix between hotline miami and enter the gungeon.

So, the theme is great, the core gameplay is solid, where are the problems ? Well, first is the story. It's okay-ish, good enough to get you to play, but not enough to hold your attention. The dialogues with the characters are pretty bad. The content in and of itself is okay, but the way it's mechanicaly executed feels off, like it's missing something. A bit of pop is missing in the graphics, audio that could be more snapy, controls that respond just a biiiit too slowly, all these make for an annoying and kind of off-putting experience. Honestly, just skip the cutscenes and dialogue, you won't miss anything.

Now, the gameplay. As I previously said, the core mechanics are there, but it's full of odd choices. The feel is great, even if not perfect, it's almost as tight as hotline miami, but the enemies are odd. They're fast and aggressive, but they're incredibly dumb, and surprisingly slow. As for the difficulty, even in the hardest mode you won't struggle much until pretty late into the game, and even then you'd have to have not been paying attention to the upgrade mechanics to struggle at all.

All this makes for a repetitive and kind of boring game after a few hours for someone with a lot of experience with similar games. But, if you aren't that good at bullet hells, or haven't experience any of them, Black Skylands is a solid entry point.

Lethal company but underwater with 3 dimensional movement and a much more fun way of choosing levels. Also eldritch secrets that don't really do anything other than look cool. And stuff doesn't repeat nearly as often as lethal company, so this is better.

No man's sky is a great game... IF.

The game has a lot of stuff to offer. It has fishing, farming, trading, ship customization, first person shooting and a whole bunch of other stuff, but at it's core there are 3 mains mechanics that will make up for the majority of your gameplay, and those are spaceship combat, exploration and base building. For the most part, these are great, but they all have some pretty hefty negatives.

Ship combat is really cool, but it's bugged in multiplayer, so don't go in expecting to get to fight huge pirate convoys with a friend. The base is okay, closer to an arcade shooter than a flight sim like elite dangerous. It's nice, but pretty simplistic. The ai isn't great at fighting, so it'll mostly try to beat you by "cheating" with ships that are much more agile than they should be and with huge numbers. Overall, the fighting is okay, but it's puddle-deep in 1v1s against the ai. Maybe against other players it's nice, I haven't tried that out because of how buggy ship multiplayer can be. There are big enemy ships in the game, which make for interesting fights, but they're pretty rare and remain pretty basic.

Exploration is another core aspect of the game, and is in fact the very base the game is built upon. No man's sky has some pretty amazing decores to explore, with a huge variety of planets and animals to discover... but that's about it. You only get to look around. Structures are pre-generated and randomly distributed on the surface of planets, so once you've seen one you've seen them all. You don't really have anything to do except sightsee, if you want to explore. And that is where the third aspect comes in.

Base building was added a while ago and has been continuously built upon, and it's pretty cool. People make some absolutely incredible things, and being able to shape out your own little corner of a planet you found and explored can be an incredible feeling. But it stops there, at base building. You don't get to terraform on huge scales, and are limited to building a house on a little parcel of land.

Overall, the game has some really interesting mechanics that allow you to do some pretty incredible stuff, IF you're willing to put in the effort. Problem is, unless you LOVE base building, you're gonna get tired of it. Unless you have an explorer's soul and love just looking around, exploration will become repetitive and boring. Fighting got boring after a couple of hours for me, the only way you're getting entertained by it is if you keep getting into increasingly new fighting encounters, which I didn't think there where enough of.

So, here's what I think of no man's sky : an incredible game for casual gaming, but don't get too into it if you aren't 100% sure you're gonna love it or you're gonna end up dissapointed. I want to love no man's sky, but it doesn't go far enough in it's mechanics.

Combat is boring and unfun. You don't unlock combos until hours into the game, you have to train for real hours with an npc just to "learn" to hit right left right and until you do all that, you have to hit in random directions and hope the enemy feels like getting hit. NPCs run into you, launching a "cinch" which you will always lose because it's based on strength, which only goes up as you play. The only other element which could make you stronger is equipment, which you only get by either cheesing enemies, looking up where to get free ♥♥♥♥ you aren't supposed to get, or playing for a long time.

The gameplay becomes bearable after 15 to 20 hours. It's a ♥♥♥♥ system. If you really, really want to go through that "early" game, the rest is okay ish.
