Harada why doesn't this game have cross progression?! I want to pick up where I left off between Steam and PS5.

The story is controversial, but I personally found it enjoyable overall. It features a diverse range of characters, including real-life celebrities. However, I found the combat to be lacking for a modern Yakuza game, and the leveling system sucked. The real letdown for me was the lack of side missions and mini-games compared to its predecessors.

A low point in the series for some, but still a must play for the Kiryu saga enjoyers,

Overall, it is a must-play for fans of the series. If you made it this far, you will also pick this one up.

The good:

- Fighting is satisfying, considering the age of the game.
- Map variety with four cities in total.
- Enjoyable side missions and mini-games that provide many hours of fun.
- If you're invested in the series, you will surely enjoy at least three of the four main protagonists.
- If you are a rhythm game fan and/or enjoy Asian idol culture, you might find one part of the game to be a nice distraction. Otherwise, this would belong in 'the bad' section.

The bad:

- The writing: The last protagonist sucks, and the writer(s) got too ambitious, resulting in a poor ending. The big reveal in the end is very underwhelming, and it didn't justify the absence of a clear antagonist throughout the game.
- Saejima's hunting mini-game is atrocious.

Installed every recommended mod and then some, still didn't fix the stuttering issues that drove me crazy. I blame valve for accepting a game that is barely playable on their platform. If it was taken down, then maybe Square Enix would have reconsidered.

Let me start by saying I'm a big fan of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. I didn't like Dark Souls 2 because something doesn't feel right about the game. The usual DS mechanics are there, it's challenging, and it requires a lot of patience, but it lacks creativity. The boss fights are dull and there isn't much to keep the player interested. The "magic" of the souls series is absent. Shortly after quitting the game, I learned that the lead developer didn't create the game himself as he was too busy with Bloodborne. That explained everything.
