One of the best building games in terms of depth and quantity.

What is great about it?

- Great and efficient game engine that can handle ultra-complex worlds without being too CPU-taxing.
- Massive amount of content, including for the endgame. The DLCs are absolutely worth it and add a lot to the overall experience.
- Challenging in every regard — you need to use your brain to be successful in the game. However, complexity is unlocked step by step and never feels overwhelming.
- A massive time sink — expect to spend a lot of time in this game. However, the experience feels rewarding rather than grindy.

What is not so great?

- Quest design, especially in some DLCs, is annoying and not something I want to repeat.
- Five worlds are overwhelming! While it adds a lot of complexity, it’s something you need to get used to and learn to handle mentally.
- The trade route system is one of the biggest pain points. The lack of a flag to disable ware overflow makes it practically impossible to use one ship for multiple wares.
- The game is too slow-paced due to the huge distances between islands — it costs valuable life time.
- Battles against AI feel chaotic and overwhelming since ships move so slowly and the AI is everywhere at once. Still, it’s a rewarding experience to crush the AI eventually. :)
- Graphics are not well optimized; I had to turn them down to get high FPS, despite having a decent rig.

Overall, I enjoyed the game a lot. The developers can be proud! It’s not a perfect game, but it’s close to being perfect.

Atmospheric high fantasy steampunk cRPG with great world building and masterful writing. Gameplay is not a strength of this game and feels outdated and the combat is weak & hectic. But I didn't mind that too much - by playing a charismatic support mage I had a lot of followers to smash enemies. Writing is the biggest strength of this game and it rewards being charismatic!

You should definitly patch it to run smoothly on Win10 - just look for the steamcommunity page with the title "Fix for slowdown on Windows 10".

It's a great game but not for everyone. If you like older cRPGs it is truly a gem!

Story-driven Point & click adventure with a great story. Offers a unique experience in a fascinating period in medieval Europe. However, it suffers from a lack of gameplay elements (no inventory and only a few mini-games) and the absence of voice acting, which hurts really bad. Ultimatively, it feels frustrating that the game is railroaded in a way, which makes a "perfect playthough" not possible.

Great cyberpunk cRPG with atmosphere and good writing. The combat system is fledged out and challenging. At times, encounter design feels grindy or too hard. But overall, the combat feels balanced, is a pleasure and one of the highlights of the game. Story writing is very exciting with nice plot twists. The game has its own unique visual style and the design is overall excellent. There are some issues though: the UI is at times not intuitive and simply not very good. Starting combat can be frustrating, since one has no control where to place team mates. I encountered a few bugs which at times corrupted my quicksave. Overall, it comes very recommended!

Wow, what a brutal DLC!
First off, you start as a single Character and can recruit one more. Then you set your sails to a set of islands.
But beware, the Gamemaster is HATING you and heavily penalize resting.
You want to rest once per island? Nope, you deserve CORRUPTION!
You did not take a cleric as a start character? Your fault, enjoy resting for days and being fed up by Corruption 3.
Wow! Such a sadistic game design. Enforced Ironman-Lite doesn't make it better.
Nevertheless it is fun. But I'm looking for ToyBox to work again, because for me the corruption mechanic is NO fun. I enjoy challenging fights and not mechanics which do not allow you to rest even once on a island. This is just sadistic and stupid.

7/10. Would recommend for masochist. But for the sake of your sanity, wait for a mod to remove the stupid corruption mechanic.

Crusader Kings is a story-telling dynasty-centric medieval politics simulator. It's a complex game demanding some time from the player to understand it. But if you understand it, you have one of the greatest and most human games ever crafted by mankind.

The good

- Well crafted, fast engine, nearly no bugs
- Better and more creative storytelling than literally anything from Disney
- Thoughtful and very smart game design
- No political correctness, the game can be as rough as the real world
- Excellent Ruler Designer for your Character (better than in most games)
- Excellent and dynamic characters figures
- A game which enables to learn something about human nature and to understand why earth is such a bad place

The Bad

- If you get hooked, you will pay with a lot of life time for this game. Seriously, it's addictive.
- It is not possible to torture children
- No DLC's released yet and base game is decent but lacks some content for experienced players. But there is more than enough for new players to have hundred hours fun.
- Some Quality-of-Life Features are missing
- Some interesting UI decisions
- It can be confusing, especially succession laws and its implications

The Ugly

- There is nothing ugly with this game. It's just beautiful, as it is!

10/10 would recommend!
