Very good game, very generous f2p model for a game like this. Review bombing is annoying

You can't progress past a certain point on f2p; you can have lots of stupid fun without paying a dime

Great game that deserves a long tail

Took ~60 hours first playthrough, mostly just rushing story missions

Combat and social systems are fun and interesting. The combat is XCOM-reboot strategy with Slay the Spire's card system. Every hero has one or two deck gimmicks that make them unique to play.

Rumors the writing is bad are bizarre, the writers clearly know and love the source material and did their best to honor it while managing to tell interesting stories about characters that have already been done to death in every medium. The grimdark arcane stuff is a part of comics history that rarely gets any attention from the MCU etc., so the whole game reads as fresh despite being in familiar territory.

The 2K launcher and Denuvo are unnecessary performance drags (Denuvo especially -- the game has been cracked already, just remove it)

With Jake Solomon's departure, this is probably the last strategy game of its kind from Firaxis -- unfortunate as Midnight Suns is completely worthy of a sequel
