So far so good. Although the PC version still needs a little more optimization. Still having micro stutters on an upgraded lappy.

I don't usually hate games, but man, I tried REALLY HARD to like this game, but the game just manages to piss me off in a lot of ways.
I know this is an old game, but it's so full of clunkiness and jank, even for the time of its release. Thankfully the sequels are much better and they learned their lessons from this game.

POSITIVE
[+] The sniping feels pretty good actually. The bullet cam somehow looks better than Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, and to a very limited extent, better than Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3.

[+] The voice acting when the situation is sneaky and snipey is actually pretty good. The characters have some of your typical "cold" personality. But, some negative part of this will be addressed in the NEGATIVE section.

[+] Weapon sounds are okay for the most part.

[+] The achievements are relatively easy (except for the Multiplayer ones, which will be addressed in the NEGATIVE section), and you can even just outright complete the game on Easy, Medium, and Hard. If you wanna complete it on Hard without struggling too much with the hassle of the difficulty throughout the game, complete the game on Easy, and then do the last mission again on Medium and Hard difficulties and you'll get the achievements for the corresponding difficulties.

[+] The DLC content are quite okay. It gives you 3 additional missions + 1 challenge mission with some more rooms to maneuver across the missions to sneak.

[+] Although quite stiff and cringy, the animations on the cutscenes are quite good. My favorite has to be the ending of the "The Showdown"mission, where Tyler and Delta 3 Squad walked away from the mine in such a heroic pose while explosions are happening behind them. The second favorite would be the ending for the mission "The End is Near" where you see Tyler chasing a slow moving Humvee in a crouching-running position.

[+] I like the Secrets collectibles you collect in the entire game can be seen in the menu as Intels or Propaganda Messages. It's entertaining to read them and some of them even has some funny typos.

[+] Relatively short running time, which is quite a blessing for how much the janks are present in this game.

NEGATIVE
[-] Call me whatever, but I feel like this game has one if not the worst stealth systems for its type. It uses a Red Meter Bar next to your health that fills up whenever you are seen, and when it's full, you're spotted and will get shot at. The main problem with this, is it's very dated for a 2010 game, and you will have a hard time identifying your target. On the main campaign, it can get clunky, but workable, but for DLC, it's such a hassle to keep yourself hidden.
Also the fact it's so inconsistent. At some point, I was ordered to sneak through, and when I tried to sneak, somehow I got spotted despite following the direction pointed at me, and I just got killed. Thankfully the checkpoint was right before I tried the sneaking.

[-] The minimap/ GPS doesn't tell you each and every enemy on your vicinity, even on the lowest difficulty, so again, you'll find it hard to identify who's spotting you.

[-] The red circle assist that gives you the accurate bullet trajectory on Easy and Medium difficulty, doesn't always show up when you aim. It does show, but you need to constantly manage your breathe first. Sometimes after doing so, it still doesn't show up. Thankfully the second game fixes this.

[-] The voice acting for a lot of the dialogues are sub par to downright hilariously awful. Like for example, in the mission "A Simple Rendezvous", you're tasked to sneak through this camp to get to a radio to call in the chopper. I did it in stealth, and suddenly, Tyler, the main character, just shouted as loud as he can be to the radio in a bad voice acting kind of way, that it feels so out of place.

[-] To break up the sniping and stealth pace, there are missions where you play as the Delta 3 Squad, using Assault Rifles and direct combat. I thought to myself that it might be alright and they wanted to go full Call of Duty on it, but unfortunately no. The recoil and muzzle flash of the Assault Rifles are too big that you'll find a hard time aiming your gun straight to the enemy. You could dump an entire magazine to an enemy not too far away, and he might still be alive because you miss a lot. The only weapon that is somewhat manageable on this mission type is the USAS that has reduced recoil and muzzle flash.

[-] The rope section can be considered passable, but you weren't told to look down the first time you used it to rappel down from your sniping position on the first mission. I thought you just use W and S to ascend or descend, but no, if you want to descend, you have to look down, and press W.

[-] The game really doesn't do a good job of telling what to do and which route you actually have to use. I tried following the marker as best as I could, but at some points, the marker are placed in odd place that I had to jiggle around to find a way to go. Even as marking targets and enemies to shoot at can be quite a hassle because the game just doesn't tell you where the objective-specific enemies are located, and instead just shows you where your Sniper/ Spotter is located to shoot at them.

[-] The plot and how it ends. SPOILER ALERT, nothing too important to worry about.
You're a sniper tasked to assassinate a tyrant General named Vasquez and with your squads, have to find a way to eliminate him. You encountered a traitor that has the most anticlimactic end I've seen in a while, and also the ending is so abrupt and hilarious. When you finally shot Vasquez and killed him, there's no further cutscenes, it the screen just fades to black and there's "THE END" sentence. This applies even for the ending of the DLC campaign.

[-] The achievements for Multiplayer. If setting up a server for the multiplayer achievement grind wasn't such a hassle, it wouldn't be a problem. The lack of adding password for your private lobby makes strangers able to join you if you don't set up the player number accordingly. If you're forced to play on the Public Servers, you better hope the strangers that come can cooperate with you and not a sack of retarded brain looking to interrupt you in every way, shape, and form.

[-] The game works for Windows 10, but because of the video Codec not supporting the OS, you'll see that the opening cutscene when you boot up the game and the main menu screen are upside down and in monotonic Black and White color scheme. It's too bad the developers don't even want to bother updating it.

[-] A lack of Steam Cloud option is just terrible.

[-] Profile creation that is not integrated with Steam like in its sequels. It's so annoying that you have to log in and enter password in this game.

[-] Lack of soundtrack. The tracks are quite generic, but not too bad. But there's only like 6 of them throughout the entire game, which can make it feels a bit repetitive.

[-] There is one bug on the final mission. When you were sneaking on a ramp, there are two enemies. One in front of you, and one on your left but blocked by a stone wall. If you want to just sneak up by dropping down, and you want to go to a staircase, there will be a random enemy pop-up that you have to kill because he will spot you, and create a domino effect of alarm which will fail the mission. And in turn, you will have to kill the other two quickly.

CONCLUSION
Sniper: Ghost Warrior is a game that started to change CI Games identity from producing janky but charming F.E.A.R. like FPS games to a bigger studio with a flagship title. It tried its best to be immersive, but it failed in doing so because of the use of dated and clunky mechanics.
I genuinely tried my very hardest to like this game, but I just couldn't. I would only recommend it if it's on sale, but be warned, you might experience some janks that might infuriate you. If you want a better SGW experience, go buy the sequels.

I give this one a 4/10.

This game is kind of a YES and NO for me.

POSITIVE
[+] It's on PC and Steam.

[+] The Paint Booth feature is nice. It's been so long since the last time we were able to customize car paint jobs from the old EA's PS2 era. The customization option is just so much you can explore a lot, and especially if you manage to unlock the sponsors from the Career Mode.

[+] The main menu music is personally good for me.

[+] REWIND feature, which will be relevant in the Negative aspects of this game.

[+] Steam Cloud feature. The new HEAT franchise lacks this feature.

[+] Pre-race commentary and DW's Boogity.

[+] The community, funnily enough is still active for this game.

[+] The achievements can be completed with Solo play, including the Multiplayer ones.

[+] It's quite cheap, and even cheaper when on sale.

NEGATIVE
[-] There is an audio glitch where the pre-race commentary, DW's Boogity, post-race Victory Lane crowd voice, your manager, and your spotter don't always pop up. It's annoying really because it makes the races feel bland. The only way to temporary fix it is to exit the game, and restart the game again, EVERY DAMN TIME.

[-] The AI drivers is quite honestly very braindead. They have a very specific racing line that you can see by the heavy tire groove on the track, and they all just stick on it heavily without really adapting too much, even when you're there. If you even dare to try to interrupt them, they won't budge, and if you happen to be slightly in front of them, they'll just divebomb and dump you.

[-] Speaking of dumping, this game has a VERY INCONSISTENT CAUTION. Sometimes when an AI got dumped into the wall when facing front, but hitting other cars behind it, cautions out, but when you got spun to the inside field, the caution doesn't come out. From my observation, the only consistent caution is when a car (either you or AI) gets spun AT LEAST 90° SIDEWAYS. It's just so dumb, that thankfully there's a rewind feature to overcome that.

[-] Back to AI, I also have to mention that in Pocono, the AI somehow becomes absolutely mind boggling. Even on 0% difficulty on my first run, the AI becomes more aggressive, brutal, and feels like they have a strength boost compared to other tracks. It's so weird that it's only on Pocono.

[-] The Career Mode is so barebones. It only features Sprint Cup series and how you rise to be the champion. On older games, you start by racing through the Whelen Modified, then Craftsman Truck, and then the Busch Series, before finally heading to Sprint Cup to compete for the big championship. It's not too bad though considering how jank this game can feel, but still, the career is lacking.

[-] The graphics look too bright in the daytime, and can look downright ugly. At night tracks, they look cool, though.
