Early Access Review
schedule 1 is an amazing early development game. I have had AAA games with worse intros and tutorials it blew me away in the first 30 minutes.

There is no Pay-To-Win there is no escape there is only hell.

This game is amazing to play, a definitive early World War 2 battle Sim. Perhaps lacking in the tactical department, but there are different skill groups and some servers have level requirements. If taking command is more your style fear not the game does make it quite easy to make a squad with friends, or to take command of some people you just met. (provided your IRL charisma score is high enough!) There are several Classes to choose from all having level-up trees to get anything from more guns to flamethrowers, I chose the life of a medic most of the time but you can play as a tanker an artilleryman or even a sapper booby trapping enemy lines.

All in all, it's an amazing game and I recommend it to all who like war games that said let us get into the negatives.
  • The Servers - Ok so the servers themselves are not the problem but how you find and connect to them, it’s very dependent that a server is running in your area if you want good ping. I live in CA so I do not know if this is a problem in other places but it is a weakness.

  • YOU ARE GOING TO DIE A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT. - there are times in this game when some brain-dead commander will place the only spawn right where artillery has been called in and you spawn and die within literal seconds. There are times when team members will kill you for taking a truck they wanted, or just not picking them up. There are times when you will be playing artillery and you and the whole squad get domed by a sniper who has spent the last 20 minutes getting to you. YOU. WILL. DIE. Get over it keep playing it is part of the fun.

  • The Community - For the most part, the community is calm non-talkative, helpful, and polite however, there are like in all games people who take it way too seriously when you are just starting. Some are quite toxic and I have had instances of people hunting players on their team.

Oh, dear adventurer, let me regale you with a tale of my encounter with the magnificent game known as Dwarf Fortress. Many moons ago, long before its arrival on the hallowed grounds of Steam, I embarked upon a journey into its depths. Alas, the treacherous path was fraught with perils, for the labyrinthine UI and the intricate web of its game design cast a shadow of uncertainty upon my soul.

But lo and behold, the passage of time has brought forth a transformation of epic proportions! The artisans behind Dwarf Fortress have wrought a visual metamorphosis that surpasses all expectations. It is as if they took the brush of an ethereal painter and breathed life into every pixel, creating a vibrant tapestry that beckons with promises of grandeur and adventure.

Gone are the days of stumbling blindly through an enigmatic maze of menus and commands. The reimagined interface now extends a welcoming embrace, guiding even the most hesitant of souls with gentle hands. It is a symphony of usability, a harmonious marriage between complexity and accessibility, rendering the once daunting fortress management a dance of elegant mastery.

And what of the game itself? Ah, my friend, Dwarf Fortress is nothing short of a magnum opus, a testament to the boundless passion and craftsmanship of its creators. Within its virtual realm, you shall find a living tapestry woven from the threads of love and dedication. From the minutiae of each dwarven life to the grand tapestry of emergent stories, every element pulsates with a sense of purpose and authenticity.

As you delve deeper into the rich soil of Dwarf Fortress, you shall witness the marvel of its procedural generation, where vast landscapes spring forth like dreams from the annals of an ancient civilization. The very stones sing with a story yet untold, inviting you to carve your own destiny amidst the winding tunnels and towering halls.

Crafting, survival, diplomacy, and warfare intertwine in a ballet of gameplay, each step demanding strategic acumen and unyielding resolve. The choices you make, the alliances you forge, and the battles you wage shall echo through the annals of history, etching your name into the eternal tapestry of Dwarf Fortress.

So, my dear comrade in exploration, I beseech you to embark upon this masterpiece of interactive artistry. Dwarf Fortress has emerged from the crucible of time, adorned with new visual splendors, and transformed into a game that transcends mere entertainment. It is a journey that shall test your mettle, ignite your imagination, and leave an indelible mark upon your gaming soul. Embrace its allure, and bask in the glory of a truly remarkable experience.

I played dwarf fortress several years ago before it came out on Steam, but I found the UI and game design overall to be a little too challenging and intimidating but now that they’ve redesigned the visual elements of the game to be more palpable, I feel as though this may be one of my most favorite games truly a masterwork of love and craftsmanship. overall 11/10 i WILL drown again

"i cant get more than 10 fps"
10/10 would lag again - me when the game first came out. (Nov 2015)

Ok so after playing this game for 200+ hours and still not completing the main story line i think it is safe to say that this is a classic Bethesda game complete with game-breaking glitches (without mods installed) it is a thrash heap and i love it 10/10 would waist life again. :melon: - me with 200+ hours and an new rig.

Mods, Game Loops, and Replayability.

Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games and Fallout in general is one of my favorite game franchises, so I’m not even going to try and be unbiased. I LOVE this game period end of review, but if you are reading this I'm guessing you want something more substantial. This game is something to experience. The opening act and intromission are both crafted with love however, this is also one of the downsides of the game as it limits the “Create your own story” aspects the other games are so famous for as your character has a canonical name male or female. (This can be fixed with mods.) That being said the characters are lovable and memorable, I don't think I have to tell anyone about your first companion Codsworth. Speaking of companions this game has so many I haven't played with all of them nearly 600+ hours in, there is just that much to do. (the mods they have let you add more and do basically whatever to them.) The actual story is good some may say amazing, but there are more memorable ones out there if I were to give it a 1-10 I would give it a solid 7. (for reference RDR2 would score a 9, BDG3 a 9, GOW an 8, and so on.)
