Have played for over 130 hours. Amazing game ... be careful with cloud saves, without it you might lose all of your progress.

Very good game, incredible really. It has a completion, like an actual game should do. Brilliant immersion with some really cool aesthetics. I loved it. Replay value about 20-60 hours with lots of crazy things to do. The drone system was a little disappointing, and there are some limitation, but it's pretty damn good.

Cheese it with assassins. Could be fun, but isn't.

A really beautiful minimalist building game, with absolutely no goals or aims to achieve. I did enjoy the aesthetic, but why bother once you've made a small island that looks nice. I'd like to have at least one thing to aim for such as population of 1000, or specific living arrangements.

A really well done remake for the modern PC. I played this back in 199x. Works extremely well. The machine gun is easy mode, even Pharaoh mode feels a bit easy, Recommended if you want a days worth of fps amazement. Games should be a lot more like this, simple to the point and understandable.

Edited review:
Having played this religiously for 2 days I can say without a doubt that it's a phenomenal city building game worth every penny.

There are some really deep challenges in the game, and it opens up to some absolutely amazing and astonishing feats as you progress. The top of three cliffs is not even the beginning.

Balancing materials for survival is absolutely rock hard, and I think that's why so many people complain about the game. You are always on a knife edge. If you run out of water, food will soon follow. If you run out of electricity, your indoor crops can't grow and to top it off water pumps stop. Money is also a major concern, if you're skint you can't fix anything, if you haven't got the legal protection thieves steal a really high percentage at night.

So in short, the disasters make a meal of your cities each time. If it's mist everything stops, if it's another kind of storm maybe only the cliff with wind electricity sustains.

The marauder attacks at first are super scary. I haven't played the tower defence game yet, but in the default game mode, when my city was massive, the second marauder wave destroyed everything in one of my cities. The tiny inexpensive triangle defence structures on every triangle space stops them before it gets too messy,.
- I lost a whole city and over 30,000 credits in one attack , it almost forced a rage quit, but I fixed it after a long and drawn out process of "people are leaving the city" due to hours of gameplay with water shortages.

Having little stories and ideas helped me to love this game. The cliff called "shard" is my favourite, because I imagined the separate small cliff as my government with all the government buildings there like parliament and courts.

An astonishing game that needs a long time to love,. You will be fighting constant knife edge resource management, which drives you crazy.
I find it akin to the Anno series,. If you run out of tobacco the whole nation riots , it's similar to that feeling.

You have to be super careful you don't break your economy, and not just money.. electricity, water, food, health food., it happened to me on several occassions and there are no fixes other than restart the whole game. Especially when you get to over 20 medals ^_^ That is super exciting and ratchets up the knife edge resource management.,

A few complaints:
- This is not a fun experience if you don't know about the [ i ] in the top right corner. It needs to be much more visible for beginners as electricty, water and food growth is detemined by percentages hidden in that [ i ] during cliff generation and gameplay.
- The ABC2 icon for vegetable food is confusing as it looks like education.
- I feel grain doesn't really represent food, but lettuce and grapes do,. So as a beginner you have to rethink what they are.
- It's not a beginners game.

But a few positives:
- It is a worthy city management game and totally rivals historic games of similar style.
- You start the city with nothing, research DOES open up loads of things to build.
- It is NOT a mobile game,. nothing like it at all. It is phenomenal !

What I want as additional things:
- I want to be able to shave the cliffs and shape them (a bit) for extra building space.

The best Borderlands game hands down, it is unique, interesting quirky and relatively bug free. I remember my jaw dropping when I played it on my old PC, a long time ago.

Wouldn't touch 3 or subsequent releases. The 2nd instalment was decent, but this original title should be enjoyed for what it is, and Gearbox should move on to something new and less s*it.

A really good game for a super low price. Simple mechanics, simple idea, reminds me a lot of crazy taxi or something along the same lines. Arcade game, quick and simple while waiting for something. Would be perfect in a gym after you've worked out waiting for a friend or family member. Although the downside is the same as the positive, it's too arcadey, you're done in 20minutes, it needs a reason, something to aim toward rather than just a high score.
