Great WH4K game! Fan will be satisfied.

Pretty good graphics, music and story. Might get a bit grindy if you play it for long.
Several classes to pick from, different playstyles, enemies, missions and bosses. Repetitive parry/dodge + counter gameplay can get boring when you master it even in the hardest difficulties.

Care when going for full 100% achievements tho, because some are really tedious, specially the PvP ones.

I just achieved 100% over 130ish hours played, this is my analysis:
Great game 9/10. Story is amazing, gameplay is fun and challenging, diversity of ships, guns, playstyles. etc.
Completely worth it.

A bit deeper: early game is tedious as you're prone to die constantly 'till you manage to get the combat maneuvers right, and late game can be pretty chaotic as one second you're 100% HP, next second you're 1%, the next second you're back to 100%; problem here is that it's not something you can manage or decide, simply try to deal with.

I do want to see more content, more ships, guns, modules, etc.

A cult simulator with humor and a rogue-like adventure mode.

Fun and challenging.

My review is negative tho I really tried to enjoy this game.

I hard a lot of this game and the reviews are "overwhelming positive", so lets go! I was expecting a platformer metroid-like with a melee weapon, what I got was an empty precision platformer with wonky jumps, annoying combat.

First of all: unless you are willing to follow a step-by-step 5 hours lasting guide, don't bother coz every single enemy will kill you at least once until you figure out how to kill properly. And every time you die, you lose all your hard-won money unless you decide to go back to where you lose it and die again from whatever killed you the first time, plus ur dead ghost who also attacks u, and if you die twice you lost everything you hoarded.

I found myself struggling to recover my ghost over and over just to die again because the path you have to follow is almost impossible to find on your own. And then the combat, you learnt the boss moves, it becomes worthless, like... lets say you have 5 lives, if the boss hits you, you lost one, so what you do is to learn to dodge / deal with anything the boss throws at you, so you dodge it and it never hits you again. So basically, you have 5 mistakes on what you do against the boss, then is just wait for hit opportunity, also following the boss attack sequence / attack patterns, and that's it, you mastered the boss, the first 30 times you will die trying to kill it, the 30th you will kill the boss flawlessly. Also, most bosses have a lot of HP so you will have to spend several minutes till it dies, granted you already know how not to get killed by it, its just time in dodge, hit and repeat. Final add against bosses: every single try you will have to come back to the boss from your last save spot, which sometimes is very far away with a lot of enemies and traps in the way.

Since the player actions are timed, when something happens you have a small millisecond to choose if jump, or attack, dash, etc. You chose the correct action, you succeed and may go on, else you will get punished and have to re-do endlessly until you get it right. This is simplified of the whole game's mechanics, not only enemies, traps too, same for new paths or intractable things in the environment etc. Once you learn how to deal with it, it won't bother you ever again; problem here is that every time takes literally several minutes to the point you will get stranded and either lose patience or succeed before you lose it, no rewards, no satisfaction, just new path unlocked. Over and over.

The game's aesthetic is impeccable, the music and environments are amazing; that's it. Its like the devs made a full hand-drawn map then tried to put a player on it and made some jump and attack wonky mechanics.

If you are willing to dump your time into a game of lose - learn - succeed - repeat with beautiful looks that will literally annoy you to death if you don't know the way, this is for you.

I made a review before that explained in detail this game features and gameplay, but I realise that wasn't quite understood. So I'm remaking it with a shorter, more consice once:

Don't buy this game. This game is s*it. Looks cool in twitch, youtube, your friends talk a lot about this. But no, don't buy it. You'll regret it. Don't say I didn't warn you.

If you get into this game you'll join your first matches without a clue of what to do, even if you did the tutorial. And all that's gonna happen is that you'll be hunted and trashed by more experienced players (after you take the bait of the bot matches, where the bots just look at you shooting randomly, the normal game's NPC are way harder than those bots).

But, even getting trashed you'll be flashed by the game's weapons system, the atmosphere, the music, etc. And then, 20 hours of play time later you'll be totally disappointed and un-excited, and you will regret every single buck and minute you spent on this game.

Even if you really want to become a tryhard and actually try to play it, with the world system, mechanics, player community and dev themselves against you, (like me), all your gonna do is spend your money in the DLC and custom skins while still tryna figure out how to deal with most of the game's unbalances, unfair situations and random bulls*it the game keeps throwing at you. When the fact is that 95% of the players have 80% of the DLC and skins, even the event and rare ones, so you will have nothing special at all even if you dedicate all your time into it.

The community itself are a bunch of noobs who have no clue what to do in a firefight, being killed, harrassed and toyed by a larger bunch of way more experienced players. That's it. There's no glory, nothing to achieve. As a new player you'll be just old players fodder with the only objective of keeping said old players instertested in still play the game. And this isn't just a thing old players do, the game's matchmaking algorithm and the balances the devs make have the only objective to give the experienced players easy kills to keep their KDA high, since dying due to pure random bulls*it is so common that not even the pros can avoid it.

That's it, Hunt: sh*tshow game explained at 100%.

Hard to master, which means in 98 out of your 100 matches you will lose like 8 hours of playtime in one bad fight.

And you will have fun enough from those 98 attempts that you will love the game.

If you are really into randomly generated challenges, this is for you. Try to find a guide on youtube or something tho, coz there's almost no tutorial on the advanced mechanics.

This game mechanics makes it hard, but versatile, you can be a quick caster or a heavy rogue. It's a good game if you go all the way thru; the story is good, the items and stats system.

I should warn about the problem if being too slow having to tank everything, making the dodge useless and attacking in slow-mo, or, being squishy and having to dodge everything or a single hit will kill you.
