I was an original backer of this game on Fig back in 2015, finished the Epic games version a year ago, and I bought the game again on Steam just so I could support them and leave a great review (also because Epic still doesn't support achievements, and I want to properly 100% this game).

This is one of, if not, the best games I've ever played. The game progression is based entirely on discovery and knowledge of the game mechanics, which you'll learn through various hints and puzzles. All the tools you need to finish the game are at your disposal the second you start. This game made me feel like a kid again (not that I'm that old) in that it constantly rewards the player for being curious and pushing the boundaries. I'm sure most people can relate to being a kid getting into video games and being amazed at discovering a new mechanic, a secret area of the map, etc. Over time that newness wears off, and you start to see how different game genres are defined, how levels are structured, and how progression works.

This game takes all of that traditional structure and progression and throws it out the window. Every square inch of the system you explore is covered in detail, and every time you question yourself and go "psh nah there's no way they'd do THAT", it turns out that they did in fact do just "that". I'm going to leave the review here, but if you like space, exploration, and find yourself longing to have that sense of wonder towards a game again, then you need to pick this up. If I could go back in time and erase my memory of this game just to be able to experience it again, I would.

Also; game takes about ~20-30 hours to complete at a normal pace with no help. I finished in 18 hours but I had prior knowledge from the Alpha that gave me a good head start.

I feel as if this game has thoroughly trained me in the way of goat. I can now finally fit in with my goat bretheren. Thank you goat simulator.
