The game that started the farming and life simulation trend. (Ok technically that would be Harvest Moon but this labor of love knocks that out of the ballpark)

This is the last and most poignant of the Blackwell game series. It nicely wraps up the questions that were left hanging, such as Joey's past, and what lies in the great beyond (well, sort of). There are some 'feels', so have some tissues handy.

The one issue I had, as with the other games, is my computer being finicky with the Adventure Game Studio engine. It took tweaking to get the GUI and controls to playable condition (there was some lag) but I suspect that is totally on my end, and I wanted to bring this up for anyone who might encounter some control lag. Do not give up - this game is worth trying different AGS settings to get it running.

Warning: I did buy this game as a pre-order and played it right after, a long while ago, so I apologize for not having more specific detail. It was worth the pre-order though to finish the story up.

I received my first controller as a birthday gift, and decided to buy a second one on my own. So, I now own two Steam controllers, one wireless Xbox 360 controller, and one wired Xbox 360 controller.

I've tried using the Steam controller on Fallout 4; it does the job okay. I quickly fell back to using mouse and keyboard because I became frustrated with sliding my thumb furiously over the touchpad like a failed Pokemon Go capture, so I think for FPS and precise aiming I'm sticking with the mouse. I've yet to use it in 3rd person games, like Shadows of Mordor or the Batman series, but I think it will do an equivalent job to the xbox ones (since it's not for aiming). It's just pretty hard to get used to touchpad on the right thumb when most other controllers use a second thumbstick in its place.

Where I think this controller shines is working with casual, couch co-op games and on games that didn't normally have controller functions included. I heard Valve is going to make the Big Picture mode take care of all that infrastructure, so I expect to see a lot more games I can use the Steam controller with in the future.

Pros
- Efficient use of battery; change AA batteries less than I do for my Xbox 360 controllers
- Two touchpads work great for the dual thumb keyboard typing
- Seemingly infinite ways to configure all the buttons (and I think from the recent update, I really mean ALL the buttons)
- Macros, in case you want to UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A SELECT START your way to winning
- Profiles, also seemingly infinite
- Two more back/trigger buttons than the Xbox 360 controller. I love buttons.
- Came with cable to use controller in wired mode
- Sturdy manufacturing, not a cheap plastic feel. Has a bit of heft to it. If you're a electronics geek you'll get a kick out of the screenprint that says Valve Corporation on the PCB and flat cables (google "Steam controller tear-down")

Cons
- No second/right thumbstick and instead has a touchpad, which takes a lot of getting used to
- Touchpad needs adjusting, default low sensitivity - end up thumbing across several times to get cursor/character to move (probably in the settings somewhere)
- Left thumbstick and the 4-color buttons placed far into the center of controller. It's noticeably in the center compared to the Xbox controller. If you have small hands like I do, you have to stretch past the knobby palm rest things to reach them.
- Still some issues with some games, ie) needing to restart the game and big picture mode to get out of a freeze when controller used
- Spring loaded battery cover. This could both be a pro and con. Easy to change batteries, but the spring mechanism may break down.
- Left side of left touchpad arrived scuffed or blemished, like some angry Aperture sentry turret kiss-lasered it on its way through the automated factory (yes, it's still there and I'm still a little sore about it)

Overall I recommend borrowing this controller from a friend first, see if you like the touchpad for the right hand and if it fits well in your hands. If it does, by all means go for it. While I need to have much more time to see if I'll get used to the touchpad instead of thumbstick, I'll definitely be busting out my two Steam controllers when my friends come over for video game nights.

Short movie showcasing Horzine specimens from the Killing Floor universe, more likely from the second game than the first because of how fast the specimens run around. Characters went into a Horzine lab with not even a starter knife and pistol and level 1 sharpshooter perk. If you're an avid KF player, you can predict what happens next.

Can't wait for Killing Floor 2.

I haven't seen many breakout games on Steam, but this is one of them, and done decently well. Graphics are NES-like but they do the job. Instead of just breaking bricks, there are also enemies on screen you must hit and clear to advance to the next stage. The 'world' map is really counter-intuitive though - each mark is like a world of stages rather than one stage, so you have to get through a chunk of stages just to save your spot.

Like others mention the RPG element is minimal and they could have done more with that. So with that in mind, this game is pretty much nothing but breakout. If you like those games you will like this one. Otherwise, it will get tedious like any breakout game.

I finished the game but I don't remember much of it other than the above. Seeing as it was that memorable, I guess I can't recommend it.

Ever wonder who has to clean up the blood and gibs after each level of your favorite FPS game? It's the janitor, the sanitation engineer, the industrial hygenist, and you get to step into his shoes to do just that in Viscera Cleanup Detail. The developor, RuneStorm, is working on the main game but has released this (Santa's Rampage) and Shadow Warrior mini-game versions ahead of it.

Work with a mop, your hands, and a sniffer (stain and junk detector tool) and clean up the mess that, in this case, the jolly bearded guy made after drinking one too many Slack Spaniel Whiskey and Hurlington Eggnog concoctions. Watch out for the various weapons of mass destruction he left unused in his wake though.

This Santa version and the Shadow Warrior version comes 'free' if you pre-purchase their main game on their website. If you purchase Shadow Warrior you get the SW version. Personally I recommend the Shadow Warrior version because it's a lot more polished and less buggy.

This game is worth getting even if you later pre-order their unfinished game. Currently at least, you can always give the Steam key to your friend (it's through Humble's store). Just be prepared for the bugs.

The game is loaded with beautiful visuals that you could be hitting F12 repeatedly and always get something cool. You don't need to play the original American McGee's Alice to enjoy this sequel, as the recap is listed in the extra content section. However, it does make the story a lot clearer.

The downside of this platformer is some of the difficult jumps and timings required. Be prepared to come across some frustrating jump sequences and starting over several times.
