No I would not reccomend this game in it's current state. Hopfully, the final release will be better and I can change my opinion.
I don't like the bluryness of this game - Things more that 500 meters or so seem to be blured out. (real eyes dont work like this!) It feels very claustrophobic in that sense.
Very laggy when aproaching a village - You can even see the Z's spawn in and fall a few feet onto the ground.
I found wandering the terrain to be very boring. When I found a house it was very tedious to search the boxes and the cupboards - especially when you find nothing to be there!
The Mech's are cool... but they don't really do anything other than be a glorified security alarm.
The inventory and crafting interface is just awful in my opinion - this really need sorting out.
As for all the stuff in the videos that the devs put out, I can not comment as I have not experienced anything along those lines yet. Watching all those videos again just confirms to me that it was just hype. I've not found any situation that they have shown.

Plus... it takes up way too much hard drive space! Seriously, this needs to be addressed and optimised!

Excellent game so far. The story mode demo/tutorial was great, it certainly teases you and shows you what is to come in the final release.
The survival mode was great, I survived longer than I though I would :)
I found the map a bit small as it didnt take me long to stumble back to areas that I had already explored.
But on the whole this is a very well made and polished early access game and I am looking forward to the final release.
Just dont take as long to get there as Stranded Deep... oh, and DayZ lol! ;)

Decided to get this after watching people playing it on YouTube. The fisrt few games were frustrating but I've got the hang of it now. This game is really great! learning so much each time I play. Every encounter is different and random. As it's in Alpha there are some bugs/glitches but it's still very playable! This will be an awesome game when finished!
