Coming up on 3000 hours of runtime (which admittedly includes a fair amount of background time) and I have never once gotten sick of this game. The "Double-A" jank is there but in a charming and endearing way that just feels genuine and full of love.
On top of that the regular free updates have been amazing and have expanded the game and universe in wonderful ways!

It is short and sweet, has a good bit of jank, but I don't regret the hour or so enjoyment I got out of it. I think with some time and funding, this dev (dev team?) could turn this into a genuinely interesting title!

How TF is this game allowed on steam and what bot farm gave it such positive reviews?? It is absolutely unplayable, none of the controls work with a gamepad, this is a known issue, it has been an issue since the games release, it has never been fixed, and to get even slight improvement with controls I had to UNPLUG MY FING KEYBOARD.

This game is absolutely unacceptable and should not be sold to the public.

Simplistic in its mechanics, but stunningly beautiful in design. It's not a challenge but a narrative journey and I loved every minute of it!

Beautiful. Haunting. Surreal… And runs on Linux!

Repressed is a wonderful little gem with a really cool hook: you play as a shadow! Okay no, this isn’t the first game to play with shadows, but I hope the trailer video shows how this comes from a bit of a different perspective.
Speaking of perspective, it’s a bit of a struggle to get your head around at first. My brain wanted to see the character when looking at the shadow, but that’s just not how light works. I think the thing that tripped me up the most was realizing that I have momentum, and calculating the momentum of a character that you can only see the shadow of is.. well it took some practice. However, I’m happy to say that after just a short while of messing around in the very opening area, my brain sort of ‘clicked’ and all the wonky movement made sense. If you immediately drop into the game and feel disoriented and out of control, set aside 5 or 10 minutes to just meander around the first few meters of the opening and get to grips with the way movement works before diving into the story.
Once I got into the story I was hooked, as I have a bit of a soft spot for narratively driven linear experiences. The voice acting is lovely, a very fitting voice for the tale being told. Equally impressive is the fluidity of the dialogue as it’s my understanding that the game was developed in Poland, and I would have never guessed it was not made by native English speakers until I saw the names in the credits. Mechanically, I think my expectations got the better of me in the early game. Because of the surreal visuals and the shadow themes, I immediately saw this game as a hybrid of Antechamber and Contrast. In that spirit I tried to throw my shadow against a surface in the distance to ‘warp’ there.. this very quickly led me into the abyss below. Chapter 3 saw the introduction of some proper puzzle mechanics to do with shadow manipulation and they are super cool. Nothing ever felt too obtuse or overly complicated, but seeing the results of manipulating the shadows was really intriguing. I would love to see this principal explored in a more freeform environment. As this plot is self contained, it would not make sense to have a sequel, but a future title building off this tech would be really interesting.
A last thought – no spoilers I promise – but if you struggle with mental illness or have had experience with domestic problems, be aware that this title may hit a bit close to home. I still think it’s a beautiful game, but maybe would be best played with breaks between chapters if you’re sensitive to these kinds of themes.

A bit quirky to control, a bit tough on the ol’ feels, and a great gem that has gotten swallowed up in the sea of indie on steam!

The factory must grow!

Factorio has a steep learning curve, but if you're into management and planning, there is no better drug on this earth. The devs have been working on it for what feels like forever and their dedication is nothing short of incredible. This game is worth every penny.

I just got off the bathroom floor after playing this game for about 20 or 30 minutes. I can't remember the last time I felt this sick.

If I had played this about a month ago (before I saw and then played the demo for Steep) I would have been so excited to see it develop and become fleshed out into a real incredible snowboarding/skiing experience. Sadly, in my 12 minutes of play time I've locked up twice and hard crashed to the desktop. Not to mention every time I attempt to rewind after crashing into a stray snowflake and wiping out my character gets locked into crouch position and will not respond to anything but steering until I re-rewind.

The best thing SNOW has going for it is that it's free, but free and unplayable doesnt win against AAA greed but mechanically sound. I really hope this game makes some serious leaps and bounds before Steep hits the shelves.

Burnout Paradise is a blast. I have no idea how long it had been collecting dust on my Steam shelf but I sincerely regret not giving it a go sooner.

As a Burnout game, I think the expectation is for vehicle destruction to be the highlight of the experience. I was personally more impressed with the unbelievable sense of speed that this game accomplishes. Typically when I see the absolutely maddening speed found in the first 10 minutes of Paradise, it comes with one of two tradeoffs. Either a) the vehicle movement is actually so fast that you literally are incapable of reacting in time to obstacles or b) the handling becomes so weak by the time you reach top speed that you have to either slow down or crash. Burnout Paradise makes you feel like you’re going 300 miles an hour at all times but never - not even for a moment - out of control. I don’t have any game design experience so I don’t know the tricks for how they achieved this, but let me tell you it’s the most fun I’ve had in an arcade racing game. Ever.

If I had a complaint it would be the “late game” content. Honestly, the issue I’m about to describe should really be a big deal, but I had SO much fun with the hours of wacky racing that I just don’t care. The game is not difficult, from my first time launching the game until I stopped playing I was steadily and relatively effortlessly progressing. I collected lots of cars, got the upgraded versions of all of them, drove like a mad-man through alleys and twisting hills, wrecked more rivals than I can count, and loved every minute of it. Then I hit a wall. It wasn’t the kind of wall that makes you think “Oh wow, the AI finally caught up and I need to start trying”. No, this was the wall where I could have a FLAWLESS race but literally never see the person in first. I had some theories that I missed something or need a different car, but at this point I had gotten something like 10 hours of awesome racing and I was satisfied.

So yes, I think there may be an issue with late game content (or else I just missed something) but it really didn’t matter because I got more than I ever expected out of Burnout Paradise and I would recommend it to any of my friends.

The Culling of the Cows is... well bland.

I’m not sure exactly what the genre would be called; you are an old farmer with a shot gun taking out mutant/zombie cows before they can reach the barn behind you. It’s the kind of goofy flash game you would see on Newgrounds back in the day, but not one you would ever be expected to pay for. The movement is a little stiff and the shots don’t actually seem to register correctly about 1/3 of the time, which is exacerbated by the flat south park-esque characters giving you no good indication of depth down range. I played it for around 20 or 30 minutes and was quite bored, then booted it back up when I noticed an announcement on the Library page: Cheat Codes Added. Generally cheat codes end up ruining the fun of a game, but in a game like this maybe skipping to the excitement would keep me engaged for at least a while longer. I activated God Mode, unlocked all the upgrades, and added an MG nest to the top of the barn; awesome right? Except it wasn’t. There wasn’t any big spectacle, the MG was anemic at best, and God Mode only lasted roughly 15 seconds.

I don’t know if I’m missing something or if there are some shady things going on because the overall consensus is Very Positive at the time of writing this. I got this as a free key from some bundle website a while back and I almost regret having it in my library. It functions enough to be acceptable on a flash game website but I’ll be hiding it in my Steam library and never touching it again.
