Update after another 12 hours of gameplay: I still don't really recommend this for most people, YET! It would be a nice addition to save the last sorted state you chose in each storage bin. Why do I have to keep selecting the type of sorting I want every time I open a bin? It would be great to be able to 'lock' certain items to you, so that the auto-deposit function on storage bins can skip certain items. It would be such a nice quality-of-life improvement to have passive health regen in bases. It seems like an oversight that you can't use the fuel IN your vehicle inventory to refuel your vehicle. I mean... it's basically in your trunk versus strapped to your back, right?Silliness. Literally ANY explanation of circuits anywhere at all would be incredible. Does terrain truly need to be THAT accurate with clipping and climbing and driving? When your bike can hit a rock and catapult straight up in the air and turn you backwards, I think we've gotten a little ambitious.

I have ensured everything is good on my end, and yet I am crashing every session I play. In the last 12 hours or so of gameplay I've noted that not only is the game crashing, it will not actually 'stop' on Steam. So now I have to restart Steam, as well as relaunch the game, which also has to 'revalidate the game files' every launch.

While the universe is certainly cool to be enmeshed in, there are a lot of problems with the game still. I have yet to play for a session without the game crashing. I understand early games have some issues, but every session I try to play? Content corruption, validating game files, etc... it just seems exceptionally poor performance which is very unfortunate. Especially when you crash out, your body is OFTEN left somewhere very compromising which can easily kill you.

Even for early-access, there's a lot of care taken in this game to immerse the player in the house building, the lore, and the engagement with the NPCs. Very much looking forward to the full release to see how much cooler this gets!

Haven't been able to get into the game. Servers appear to be perpetually at capacity since I've bought this game. Had I known this was the situation right now I wouldn't have bought the game quite yet...

In addition to the absolutely huge map and decent array of biomes, the puzzles are delightfully tricky, the fighting is decent for an early access game, and the inventory management is second-to-none.

There are so many surprising quality-of-life features to this game, that it's rather surprising to see such an easy learning curve in a brand new game.

The updates and patches so far are a clear indicator of the devs listening to the community, and prioritizing improvements for all play styles.

I've played solo and with friends, and the game is nicely balanced to support both play styles, which is a rarity.

The water effects are so real that if you sail around while hungover you can create a cool disembarkment effect irl. The world begins rocking gently and it becomes tricky to effectively steer around your house. 10/10 would fall down the stairs again.

I've only played this game for 5 hours and I've had 4 crashes already with seemingly no clear cause and no way to fix it. 'Game error' is all I get when it crashes.

Additionally, the tutorial is not sufficient to teach you the mechanics at all before just throwing you in the deep end to figure it out on your own. Normally I actually like that dynamic as I don't like being hand-held through a game, but the UI is not intuitive, the controls are not intuitive, and trying to find out how to do anything isn't simple or easy to access anywhere - so you kinda rely on the first tutorial to give you that lay of the land.

Overall, while this game IS very beautiful, it feels rushed and neglected.

It looks as beautiful as the rest of the franchise and has just the right amount of inventory management updates to feel like an even more polished version of the same greatness from the previous 2 (and all the expansions!). Just get it :)

Very decent game all around. Intuitive controls, very easy UI to get the hang of, mechanics feel natural, low learning curve, decently challenging. The variation of classes to play and how they work together in missions are well balanced and complement each other perfectly. Good as solo game but even better as co-op with buddies. Nicely designed, nicely skinned, and just the right amount of cheeky writing to give it good personality. 10/10 would mine again
