This game is one of the most unique ones I've played in a while. It brings an older style of gaming back into play where you need to backtrack progress and figure things out on your own without the game guiding you along the way and I think this approach makes Hollow Knight one of the best games released this year. The gameplay is fast paced for the most part when you aren't trying to avoid traps and discover a new area, the sense of the unknown compels you to keep playing and gets you hooked, enemies are unique and creative per area, the secrets allow for more replay-ability, the thought and design put into all the lore, level design and art really shows how much the devs care about this game being something original. Hollow Knight is a breath of fresh air for platformers and if you remeber the olden days of gaming where there wasn't always a youtube tutorial to help you, buy this game; it's worth every penny.
