Why in the the ♥♥♥♥ does the AI speed up to match my pace when I hit NOS?

Helldivers 2 was incredibly fun.

And then Sony stepped in.

Single player gameplay and graphics? Fantastic

Multi-player? As of right now, there's about a 5 second delay between controller input and game reaction when I try to play my brother (who I also bought the game for). I bought it for both of us to re-live a bit of our childhood, and we can't even play because of the lag.

Would be a SWEET game if my damned mouse would stay trapped in game when in fullscreen mode.....
