How is this game THIS good??
Genuinely zero complaints.

I nearly died in the tutorial mission / 10

But genuinely, I got this game because a friend of mine retweeted the launch trailer and is in the game (Hi Horatius!).
The game looked really cute and fun, and that proved to be true when I started it up.
Visually, the game is stunning with its chunky but smooth art style.
The sound design is incredible, too! Hits feel like they have some real impact, and you can tell things apart by sound alone.
Enemy design is fitting as well. Some classic things like your every-day slime, to some more... unique potato looking carrot things that run into walls and then die.

Each enemy feels unique to fight as well. Some simply charge at you, some create terrain and walls, some run away and poke, some have big telegraphed attacks.
The hub area seems lovely so far. Better weapons and armour take what feels like a very fair time to obtain.
For healing, you could just shovel down mushrooms to heal five HP at a time which takes ages. Or you could craft potions that are fairly expensive in materials, but heal you a lot in a pinch when you're fighting.
The bank system also looks to be juuust big enough to keep your most important crafting gear, as well as some backup equipment.

Most importantly, the game feels challenging but never unfair. I failed my first two missions not because the game is poorly balanced, but because I didn't pay attention. My deaths felt deserved, and only made me think "I can do better next time."

There are some bugs like getting stuck on wall corners, text not disappearing, the music randomly stopping when you walk between biomes. But at the time of writing this, the version is 0.1 and I'm sure those things will be fixed soon enough.

I'm excited to see where this game goes!

I thought this would be a weird/silly dating sim, but I actually got extremely invested in the characters and story! As weird as it sounds, this is one of the most fun games I've ever played!
