I have mixed feelings about The Last of Us, and I want to review it based on my own experiences without getting influenced by negative reviews and the bad rep surrounding the game.

Starting with the cons, the game took 45 minutes to compile shaders before I could start playing, and it did so again when I started it up the next day due to a driver update. This as you might imagine is expected but taking 45 minutes each time makes it frustrating. Also, the game's performance isn't great, and even on medium settings it sometimes dips to 30-40fps on a 1080p screen and a RTX2070. While this isn't unplayable, it's not the performance I was expecting from a modern game.

Pros, I didn't experience any crashes during my first 6+ hours of gameplay, and the game felt stable throughout. The story is phenomenal, with great writing, gameplay, and an amazing environment to explore. Despite the warnings and negative reviews, I'm truly enjoying my time with The Last of Us and if your a fan of adventure/zombie games this really is a gem!

As a fan of the series, I had been waiting for this game on PC for a long time, and it delivers in many ways. It's risky to buy it at full price, but I don't regret doing so. However, if you're looking for a mostly bug free experience the game just isn't there yet. Nonetheless, I think it's worth it, even with its flaws (just not at full price).
