Great game, great graphics, a bit too easy and the voice acting is shaky but overall a wonderful point and click adventure.

Great game, a nice sequel for Human Revolution, lots of choices and ways to reach the objectives. Worth the time.

Early Access Review
“I’m flying a bomber, the Japanese are on my six and I’ve taken a lot of damage, the tail gunner has shoot few of them down but the plane took a lot of damage, we may not make it.” That is just a page out of my journal while playing “Flying Tigers: Shadows Over China”. I was making my escape after I just bombed the enemy base.

I’m not into flight games, but this one really played a number at me. FTSOC its plays nicely the World War II front in China, the team got the atmosphere of and the immensity of the war theatre just right and I got myself really immerse in the game. The events are tied to a story-line, while nice, it just holds the action together and gives you a purpose and that is just fine. Not that you really need anything more. The gameplay is amazing, you really feel like you fly the plane, while keeping things simple. It might look a bit hard at the beginning but once you get the hang of it then you’re having a huge amount of fun.

The missions are really diverse, none looks like the other in both objectives and setting. You chase enemy fighter, break bombers formation, you bomb bases and destroy bridges. You even get to be the tail gunner. Nice! Some are a bit too difficult even on the casual difficulty, especially when you have to keep the flight formation. The controls are good, there is no confusion as to which button to push and you get the hand of it easily and works well with an Xbox Controller.
The weather is also diverse, in some mission it rains, in some it snows or maybe it’s just plain sunny. The graphics look nice, the level of detail is just enough to keep you on track. Another place where the games shines is the soundtrack. It binds nicely with the overall atmosphere. The explosions and machine guns really give the WWII feeling

FTSOC also haves other game modes such as Dogfighter, Challenge and Free Flight. In Dogfighter you chose your plane and fight other planes controlled by the AI which provides a good enough opponent on normal difficulty. While a human opponent surely could provide a far better challenge, I had little luck in finding other people to play with. And I could not enter the one room I ever saw because the game kept telling me I had an older version, which was not true.

Despite being in early access, I’ve encountered only one bug, the enemy fighter didn’t take damage but restarting the mission seems to have solved it. There were no fps spikes or anything to bother me while playing which is surprisingly good.

Bottom-line Flying Tigers: Shadows Over China is a very good game, immersive and fun to play with a good soundtrack and diverse mission. Could totally compete with an AAA title an even beat it to a pulp. Hopefully at the release there would be more people getting into multiplayer.
