4.2 hrs on record
So I just finished my first run-through of the game in a little under 3 hours. I've been an avid fan of 2D platformers since way back in the day with one of my favorite series of all time being Megaman. That being said I enjoyed Deadlight quite a bit despite some of its obvious flaws. The graphics, tone and atmosphere of the game were pretty stellar to me. The borderline monochrome filter fit the bleak undertone that the game was trying to set. The story, although predictable, is still decent enough that it doesn't hinder the game progression. The platforming and combat can be really fun when everything works as it should. Now to the problem areas. The controls can be pretty finicky at times, more so due to the fact that the game forces you to play with the analogue stick. (I'm more of an old school D-Pad kinda guy when it comes to 2D platformers) The game, at times, makes it painfully tough to face the direction you want to be facing and the neutral jump can be sensitive which is a pain when your in high pressure cirumstances. The aiming system can also get in your way, especially in the latter parts of the game, since the sights wont register enemies that just come into your plane from the backdrop. (2.5-D problems) Last major issue I have with the game is the length since I was able to beat it in under 3 hours. Sure it does unlock nightmare mode and an alternate ending as well as minigames which adds to replay value but I figure they could've pushed to make the base game at least around 5-6 hours long.

All issues aside I had a lot of fun playing the game and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys 2/2.5D platformers or a zombie buff. 8/10 would get swarmed again by 6 zombies while trying to pick up a collectible.
