Think Metroidvania meets the obscured yet interesting / melancholy story telling style of Dark Souls, with the difficulty to boot.

Explore a decrepit Kingdom and seek out the truth of what brought about it's downfall, with an absolutely beautiful art-style and the fantastic (Can't understate this) soundtrack, with tunes to have you feeling scared, calmed and amped up for the next fight. A huge map with tons of secrets to uncover, collectibles to find, multiple angles to approach each area and a deceptively simple combat system that combines platforming with twitch reflexes in some seriously tough encounters.

Had me gripped right to the very end, probably one of the best games I've played in years, not to mention that between the base game and all of the DLC being FREE there's plenty of content to chew your way through here (And did I mention the game is 15 bucks? If you don't already own it, you should)

Apparently microtransactions are gone, need to look ino the state of the game more but if it's back to how it was:

. Still too much DLC

. Really good co-operative play

. Good replayability

. Good customisation and weapon variety (Although DLC locks off alot of weapons and makes up the bulk of them.

Thief 2: The Metal Age stands as a perfect example of taking a concept that already exists and improving upon ever facet of it's overall structure and execution. This sequel to the rather popular Thief: The Dark Project takes what made the first game so great, removed all the cave/ruin spelunking, took the idea of being a thief with a task in which there are multiple ways to deal with that task and moved it to the next level in terms of game design.Garret returns for the sequel being the titular thief of the series.Much like the first game's plot,it starts out slow, with Garret carrying out tasks for various people and trying to keep his landlord from banging down his door, all with the use of his variety of ''skills'',this allows for what made the first game great, breaking into places you shouldn't be and taking things you shouldn't own, however, the plot quickly gets to the main agenda and you will begin to carry out jobs that carry more weight than a purse of gold, with implications for the rest of the world and it's fate.Speaking of breaking into places, the level design in this game is among the best I have ever had the joy of experiencing, the now defunct Looking Glass Studios create vast and richly detailed environments for you to explore and plunder, ranging from a large warehouse complex to a collosal tower owned by the fanatical Mechanists, each of these levels were clearly designed with a painstaking amount of effort and it shows with every secret to find and location to explore, never has a game provided the same thrill of being a thief than this game.Despite it's admittedly noticable age, this game still manages to provide a experience that few other games have been able to parallel and it remains a contender for my favourite video game of all time.If you are in anyway a fan of stealth games, you owe it to yourself to experience this masterpiece,be wary though,as you may find your heart has been stolen within the first few levels of loot-filled glory.
