Campaign: Definitely a step up from gow4, but then again thats not saying much. The 3 player coop forces one of the 3 players to be Jack, forcing them to basically spectate the campaign as jack is fragile and his taser is lackluster. The open world feels very empty with little to do. Travelling seems to be a time filler because there is nothing to do as you traverse the land on the skiff with the exception of the desert storms. The choice you are forced to make later in the campaign was very underwhelming because I honestly could care less between the choices because both are unimportant. They could have ended the game with another act, but they need to make a Gears 6 for more money.

Multiplayer: Easily the worst out of every game(possibly tied with judgement). Movement feels clunky, weapons are over tuned, bad map designs, lack of maps, flashbangs being better than smokes in every way, very very braindead aim assist (look up a video it's actually disgusting). Gameplay revolves more around sitting on your balls shooting a lancer while having your eyeballs melt out of your skull as you are flashbanged behind cover and from behind. Every weapon has too much stopping power. Lancers will down you near instantly when you leave cover which discourages aggressive play for a more campy style that most gears vets do not like. The gnasher is very long ranged and gnasher battles end as fast as they start. Wall bouncing around the point seems a lot less effective in this game as lancers and gnashers are overtuned. While I have not experienced it myself, people have said that the markza can headshot you through cover. This leads on to another problem, hitboxes. I play on k&m so I do not have any aim assist, but I shoot people in the back and the chest with the long shot and embar and get headshots. I have completely missed a person, but still killed them. I can honestly say that masturbating with a cactus is more enjoyable than playing multiplayer.

Horde: You can no longer play the character you want with any class. They decided that it was a good reason to lock characters to specific abilities. They have said it will take longer for new characters to come out because they have to design their special abilities, but it is very clear that this is a deliberate move fro slower content releases. I have not played every character yet, but from what I have gathered from others, using normal weapons feels like you are shooting a nerf gun in later rounds. I play Del and all I can do in later round is pocket my auto turrets with my repair tool because my weapons tickle their ballsacks. They actually took out defenses from gow4 such as the mountable turret. Games feel slower than past games and enemies feel like bullet sponges with bad ai.

Escape: Mode gets boring after 2 replays, but that's just me.

Content: I wish there was actually content for me to review. There is a laughable amount of characters that are available at launch. It's okay though, we got a bunch of marks, banners, and bloodstains that I have not yet noticed anyone use. They claimed that they were ahead of the industry with their new progression system, but all we got was a fortnite clone store and grindy battlepass filled to the brim with marks and banners with the occasional weapon skins or skin from the campaign. They had models for characters such as clayton, lizzy, baird, paduk, cole, onyx guard, locust etc.. They decided to hold those for a later time, to suck our souls out with a later battlepass. They do not seem to realize that fortnite is a free to play game while gears is a $60-80 AAA title excluding the gamepass which they will most definitely use to justify their predatory microtransactions. I believe it is $25 for an incomplete weapon set, emote from tour of duty, and a banner. I really wish that nobody would buy anything from the store, but people will always support money hungry developers. There is no incentive to play the game, because there really is no content to work towards. The re-up progression is desert camo skins(yes really).

Overall I think I could have programmed this game by smashing my skull into my keyboard and coded with my pen1s and I would have created a better game than this.
