The sole purpose of this spin-off’s existence was simply to confirm that Majima had always been a furry.
While I do not agree with this depiction of Majima (because he has never shown any signs of mental illness), the most gruesome part of the story is actually that the highly advertised "Sea Dog" fighting style transforms him into a sea dog—just so he can eat Saejima in the finale. Not even Saejima deserved a death like that.
