Can't recommend because it lacks direction in progress at this moment.

This is a great rogue-lite dungeon crawler, but it had a good portion of the game became super repetitive where I almost quit from boredom.
I got over that hump and then cruised to the end with nearly 100% achievements because the flow was nigh perfect at that point.

Many years later and still quite a buggy mess across many setups :(

30 hours in, and this is one of the greatest immersive sims of all time. Bugs be damned, I love it so much.

I think the greatest parts are those that require you to live with your decisions, and the story provides much levity to not be so serious about medieval life.

Loaded it up, got a black screen and nothing other than that.
Spent 2 hours looking for fixes and tried them all, and nothing changed.
Uninstalled, can't recommend because of my experience.
Not refunding because of what the game looks like on streams and maybe it will work when it is in full release in 10 more years.

The research system is lacking in direction and feeling meaningful early on in the game.
A few failures later I noticed what the devs wanted me to do rather than letting me upgrade and discover around my play style.

After that moment it actually went from a challenge to immediately too easy, all in the space of 3 hours.

Too confining and "cookie cutter" for my tastes and compared to other games of this type, so I cannot recommend at this moment.

Edit: After many updates, over the course of a year after launch, this game is such a solid 10/10 it is astounding!
Double Edit: After 2 years this game has become even more packed with content
