If we played together and it was cool then feel free to add me!
Short PSA for old Steam friends below the line:
----------------------------------------------------------------
If we're friends but we haven't talked in a while, I might not remember who you are :(
I generally keep contact for a while after friending people, then it kinda trails off, and next time I talk to them ages later I've forgotten what game I met them in and why we buddied up. It's just how I am as a person, it's not ever about the specific people this happens with, so please don't think it's you. It's a problem I'm working on.

I'm really bad at names and faces in real life too, legitimately. Recently I've been using Steam to tag people with what game I know them from as well as what their name was when I met them, to make it easier for me to remember them even when they change nicknames and profile pics and stuff, but please don't be offended if I don't remember you straight away (or god forbid, at all).

On the bright side, we can become friends all over again!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Note:
When I accept friend/group invites I do so with no-to-minimal vetting, BUT recently I've been a little bit more stringent about this, since I've been getting a LOT of obvious bots and scammers. If you're obviously a real person with a regular profile, and don't immediately try and get me to buy or sell or advertise or whatever, that should be enough!
P.S. Leaving a suspicious comment (including but not limited to asking ME to add YOU when you could simply do it yourself, or just saying nice yet weird things about me out of nowhere) does NOT improve your chances... but leaving a genuine comment about who you are or something WOULD help convince me you're a real person, if you worry I will not recognise you.
