This game is a masterpiece. The exploration is exciting, the puzzles are well designed, and the strategy that comes from the roguelike drafting elements is a really engaging challenge. Is it for everyone? No, but I've never played a game that was. If you start a run thinking "I need to get this specific thing to progress on the puzzle I'm focusing on or the run is a waste of time" then you're going to find the game frustrating. If, on the other hand, you approach each run thinking "I wonder what new discovery I'll make today" then you'll find the game to be consistently rewarding. I have played 40 hours and never had a run that was a complete waste. Each time I found a new room, or a new clue, or new information about how the drafting works or where items can be found. There is also meta progression to keep later runs from getting too repetitive. If you like puzzle games, and you enjoy the challenge of adapting to what the game gives you, you will have a great time at Mount Holly.

This game is really pretty. Unfortunatly, that's about all it is. Gameplay is shallow: the training is a reaction time minigame, and the races involve watching an icon representing a horse go around a 2D track with no player input at all. Breeding only has a handful of possible outcomes, I got one of the "Legendary" horses first try. I realize the game is intended for kids, but I expected more content than this. Requesting a refund.

Early Access Review
I only played this game during a free weekend, but that was more than enough time to see a lot of its flaws. It seems to me that the developers are much more interested in adding new content than they are in making sure the current content works.

TL;DR Not worth any money until it's more balanced and a plethora of bugs have been fixed.

The pros and cons of this game as I see them:

Pros:
-Beautiful graphics
-Excellent animations for all the creatures
-Large and varied game world
-Multiplayer
-YOU CAN RIDE A VELOCIRAPTOR
-Regular updates that add new content

Cons
-Updates don't contain bug fixes or balancing
-Bugs (ex. creatures frequently get stuck in trees)
-While singleplayer is technically an option, everything takes so long by yourself that it's really not worth it
-There are a lot of creatures that are inescapable/undefeatable early in the game
-Tamed creatures do not respawn when you do
-Taming creatures takes a long time, and most are impossible until much farther in the game than I reached
-Paid DLC available while the game is still in early access

I want to like this game, I really do. But until its issues are addressed it really isn't worth the money, even on sale.
