Maybe it's a skill issue, but if you are new to shooter games and/or want a more slow-paced Battlefield experience, look somewhere else. The game has not even been out for a month and the skill gap is already so enormous that in most matches I get mowed down constantly. I can't even get 2 shots into someone before they turn on me and clip me in an instant.

This is the reason I stopped playing FPS games overall, because at my skill level, it becomes almost impossible to enjoy the game and overall 8 out of 10 matches I struggle to compete. There is no skill-based matchmaking if my skill bracket means I am cannon fodder rather than actually playing decently, or I'm just losing touch with games like this.

I used to play Aliens: Fireteam Elite, which used to be a favourite of mine. I am all for co-op tactical shooters without the PvP element, since I had put down competitive games a long time ago. Helldivers 2 is quickly becoming a favourite of mine when I want to brainlessly kill enemies with an arsenal of explosive ordnance and brutal firepower.

Playing with the community has mostly been a positive experience for me, aside from a few instances where I got TK'ed on extraction but it happens so eh...

All in all, this is a fun way to kill time and blow up stuff and some of the funniest or most epic things can happen in this game. I fully recommend it, even more so if you have friends to play with, it's the most fun playing it with friends.

EDIT: This game has become even better with the recent patch that buffed a lot of weapons and stratagems across the board, so many ways to bring liberty and democracy unto our enemies! :D

Can't discern if people don't touch grass or cheat in this game. Sometimes they play like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ then all of a sudden know where you are and insta-headshot at 200ms reaction time.

I try to play this game with friends, but even then I often get brain aneurysm. There is no strategy in this game. Spam utils then it's all down to reflexes.

Can't recommend it to anyone who is looking for a casual shooter, avoid like the plague, unless you are into hardcore competitiveness and living in this game 24/7.

EDIT: Weeeeoooo, whoever thought that merging CS2 into CSGO and de-listing GO was a good idea, should be fired pronto lmao. Not only it's confusing why there is no more CSGO, but the reviews are an absolute lie now lmao. But what would you expect of a CSGO reskin, still riddled with cheaters? :)

This is how FPS games are supposed to be, period. Insurgency: Sandstorm is an outstanding example of the realistic tactical shooter category. The attention to the tiniest details immerse you fully to the point you have shivers going down your spine during intense scenarios. The addition of character voice overs just elevate this experience all the more, and using proximity chat in this game is a MUST!

I can't count how many times I snuffed someone out by just listening to them talking over proxy.

Infinity/10 most underrated FPS shooter of this decade.

It's the same rinse and repeat scenario just with better graphics and bass-boosted sounds. It's not worth the asking price and the skill gap will be present for newer players who will just leave the game because of non-existent matchmaking as usual.

So after more gaming sessions with friends who play regularly and trying out SEA region servers, I have grown to like this game a lot.

Definitely changed my perspective on how to play the game after watching youtube vids and also getting constructive criticism back from parts of the community on the forums (There were snarky comments and sarcastic remarks too, plenty.)

Honestly if you swallow your pride and accept the fact that some people will be out to steal your loot while you are plundering this game can be quite fun. We engaged in a fair amount of PvP already and more times we had fun than get angry and frustrated and plundering has been going great. I have just achieved Pirate Legend as well and will be moving onto Legend of The Veil stuff.

All in all, this game is addictive while rough on the edges. If you can endure getting past the first few dozen hours of learning curve and being obviously obliterated a few times by more experienced pirates, you will too grow to like this game, because there is tons to do in it, if you become decent at PvP it can be fun and you can meet some friendly pirates too, silly encounters are always fun.
