Early Access Review
I heard some minor positive praises in passing about this game and decided 'Eh, ♥♥♥♥ it' and got it on a whim.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it's cool as hell and a good balance of fun and challenging. Weapons having unique abilities is always a plus, and while some are more useful than others, it doesn't mean they're not fun to use if you build for them.

So yeah, play it. Even in EA it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dope.

Don't let the recent 'Mostly Negative' reviews fool you. The new menus are bad. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they're bad. But the game? The game's as good as it's ever been. I miss the old maps, and I can't wait for them to be updated to be playable on the new engine.

I am writing this as the credits roll, having just beaten the game on Jedi Master difficulty.

As a young man who grew up with Star Wars as a child, only to watch as Disney wring this property dry over the past few years, I must say it was absolutely refreshing to see something take the source material provided and elevate it to such a level that I actually cared about Star Wars again. I had more than enough doubts at first regarding this game, it would seem Respawn Entertainment has risen above the expectations I once had. After all, it IS an EA game, and ignoring that fact is just impossible. Thankfully, the writers and directors of this game were still able to make something that truly feels like a Star Wars experience. Is it perfect? Hell no, there's a ton of jank, some weird animations, and some 'meh'-ness regarding certain combat mechanics, but it's definitely a solid experience that I would recommend, especially for fans of Star Wars.

tl;dr - They did it, the madmen. They made a good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Star Wars game.

I started this game up expecting something along the lines of Oblivion, seeing as I recall them being released around the same time, but I got something entirely different, but not unwanted. Despite putting you on a linear path, there are just so many different ways you can go about handling yourself along the path, and I personally enjoy that. In addition, there are plenty of awesome secrets that leave me looking around for any kind of secret buttons or breakable walls along the way, and I just love how this game rewards you for it. Upon launching, I noticed this game is run on Source Engine, which had me delightfully surprised. DMMM Utilizes the technology wonderfully and the combat alone would leave me thinking it was a different engine entirely.

Downsides consist of crashes, which are long beyond being worked on due to the game's age. However, if you're able to fix those loading crashes, then I guarantee that a great game waits for you on the other side of those loading screens, however cheesy some of the characters and dialogue are.

Basically, I'm giving this a 10 outta 10, because I haven't had this much fun with a singleplayer RPG since Oblivion and Skyrim. Definitely on par, and plenty of variety to keep you going.
