Quite likely the best Monster Hunter game of all time. I'm not gaming at 4k with the High Res pack and have had absolutely no issues with the game's performance. I'm on a 5800X3D and a 3060 so I'm not sure what people are talking about.
Updating the Direct Storage DLLs that shipped with the game was enough to get me well over 90 FPS.

The game is an outstanding example of how Monster Hunter needed to evolve. It's still a little rough around the edges, but that's how Monster Hunters tend to be. Monsters are many and varied, weapons and armour are unique and fun.

You can even call in AI controlled hunters if you don't like playing with actual people.

The grind has been reduced rather substantially in the early game, which is super nice on the road to High Rank. The grind at the high end so far seems about where it normally is with the ability to kick off investigations and missions rather quickly. Auto-SOS is a nice setting to have too.

There are additional grinds at the high-end that are spoiler-y but you could easily sink 100 hours into this game and still have more to do.

All of that said, I do recommend the game, but after Dragon's Dogma 2 and its stellar story-telling - the storytelling in this game is awful. The main missions lock you into long "walking" scenes with terrible VO and a story that tries to show more of the Monster Hunter world but just doesn't work.

Why is it that Pawns never shut up when I'm running around in DD2, but in MHWilds when I'm doing story you have to shut the game down for 15 minutes so you can tell me that we might see a monster? Totally bizarre.

Well polished labor of love from a team of devs that actually like their game. Excellent job. The game falls under the gameplay style of Left For Dead or Vermintide. Constant updates make this one to keep an eye on for launch if you're not into buying EA. A definite buy regardless in my opinion.

This game has some serious potential but is very deep in alpha or at least it should be. As an entirely new player not knowing much about the game, I died pretty much immediately... During the tutorial.

I'd recommend checking it out if you're into being involved with the development of a potentially great game.

If not, I would simply say if you're looking for a great gaming experience - give it a few months. There appears to be very regular updates from the developers - keep it up guys and gals!

Fantastic game for those that enjoy both strategy and 4X style games. While this is not a 4X by a traditional sense, the sheer scale of the game makes up for it. The staggering level of detail zooming from the galaxy level all the way to the guns on your ship is impressive. The learning curve is rather steep and getting to know all of the quirks of the three races takes quite some time. Once you get the hang of how to build and optimize your research and fleet movements you'll be decimating planets and opposition in no time.

If you like long, drawn out, massive space battles that span entire galaxies - definitely check this out.

While the game is quite good and steam ported it very well, having to log into Origin multiple times and the lack of any explanation of CD keys and who, what and when the DLC is available makes this game not worth the money even when on sale. Thank you for making this game available to us but unfortunately EA and their villainization of gamers everywhere make this port on Steam a serious hassle. I would highly suggest passing on this game and using the money to support Indie developers.
