The game has a unique RTS-like feel that I can't find anywhere else. I've just recently come back after taking a lengthy break and the game still holds up and scratches that itch after all this time.

Good news, Sony just recovered from a case of FAFO.

With the announcement that they are reverting the mandatory PSN account when a prefectly good StramID already exists for player management, I'm happy to say this game is well worth the investment.

Bored of League of legends? Try Helldiving!
It's that FPS shooter not scratching the itch? Kill some bugs!
Is that RTS getting stale? Mount up those guerilla tactics and take the fight to the Automatons!

It's not really a game I'll play every day, but it fits the niche of the game you play inbetween games to avoid burn out. Pop in, try some new content, come back in a week or two.

With constant updates released in a lore engaging way, combined with a feeling that you've just earned that new rocket launcher by liberating the planet the factory that made it is on - there's all sorts of flavour to at least jump in and have some fun with mates or three random matchmaking. Solo play is an option, but you'll be in for one hell of a fight if you're just starting out.

However, there is a minor grind to unlocking the fun things. A lot of the support weapons and strategems (think on demand call of duty score streaks) are locked behind level 20 and the new weapons and armours are tied behind a (non FOMO, permanent) battlepass system. There is also a paid currency that you can earn in game at a fair rate per mission used to unlock additional battlepasses (warbonds) armours and cosmetic helmets.

It's every action movie I ever grew up on, the propaganda is pretty funny and it just scratches that casual itch I get in between competetive play.

I just spent the better half of 4 hours farming a named elite for a trinket that I'm only going to use for the next 10 levels until I farm the next named elite at level 51 for a slightly better version. A while the party members I was with got it in the first 3 to 5 kills, people would run up and link it in chat after about 2 minutes. By the time party members had gotten it twice, I was busy getting every OTHER rare drop this named elite had in it's loot pool. Naturally, these items were bound to my account on pickup, so not only was I getting items I didn't want or need, but I couldn't even sell them in the market when I was done with this ordeal. I'd liken this to ♥♥♥♥ and ball torture, but at least people who enjoy CBT get some pleasure out of it.

10/10 would recommend.
