This scratches the same itch for me that Hearthstone did in 2016, when it was at its peak.

A mix of LoL and Windblown mechanics with a Slay the Spire game loop. If you like those things, you'll like this 100% of the time.

Best RPG experience of all time

Best engine card game of all time. Not much more to say hah

This game is a lot like a modern take on Fable: the Lost Chapters + Kingdoms of Amalur, with an added first-person POV option. It has a light role-playing vibe that has EXCELLENT narrative, atmosphere, and dialog (I personally get BG3 vibes) but the role playing is compact, centered around your party and not the broader world. Some reviewers have mistaken 'compact' for 'shallow', but there is a difference: the writing is superb, it's just focused on the plot. Heaven forbid the game has a story to tell...

IMHO the ONLY reason this game isn't rated Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam is that it lured a crowd of Skyrim/Elder Scrolls fans who are legitimately looking for a comprehensive escape from life: a world they can live in, instead of reality. This game isn't that. It doesn't TRY to be that, nor should it.

I genuinely think Avowed's legacy will be re-evaluated in time to be understood as best-in-class. That can only happen once people have sorted out what they're looking for, and the game starts being reviewed on its own terms instead of the ridiculous, genre-confused comparisons being made presently.

Charming, fun, and relentlessly entertaining. An interactive Pixar-style adventure with a grounded narrative. A must play for folks who love old school Legend of Zelda, Ghibli films, and/or old school 3D platformers <3

Well optimized and so far the mechanics are fun. Can't wait to buy!
