Simply put, the game is fantastic. I can’t even remember the last time a game hooked me quite like this one has over the last week.

Well worth the $20 I spent on the launch bundle, and I’m even considering spending another $20 to get the Alchemist dude because the game is just that good.

I understand the hesitancy with the companies business practices in the past and such, but $20 for a card game/auto battler in which you get EVERYTHING gameplay related is a steal.

They’ve gotta keep the lights on somehow, toss them some support, they deserve it.


(If I had to list one complaint though, it would be the lack of duplicate protection on drops. Duplicates would be fine if you get some gems to make up for it, even if it’s a measly 10 or 20.)

UPDATE:

I have now sunk in over 125 hours in the game, and I did end up purchasing Mak, which was without a doubt worth it. I'm still having just as much fun as I was having when I first wrote this review which was around 60ish hours of playtime.

If there's one thing this game excels in, it's pushing you to try different strategies based on what you're given versus just trying to make the same build over and over. If you want to hit the Legend rank in this game (which I did), you have to learn to adapt, and that adapting is exactly what has kept this game fresh for me.

Well worth it. Stop reading any further reviews and give this game a shot. You will not regret it.

One of the best games to play with friends.

Can't believe I waited this long to finally play through this game all the way. Got it back in High School when it launched, but got irritated on the second boss and never picked it back up until a couple days ago.

Once I did pick it up again, I couldn't drop it, this game is phenomenal in every sense, story, gameplay, and level design. There are so many different ways to go about each mission depending on what you spec into it's quite staggering.

A must buy in my opinion.

Easily one of the most unique and coolest games I have ever played. Initially I stayed away from it because the videos I watched online kind of bored me, but after finally deciding to buy it and try it out, I'm loving every minute of it.
