Faster, more intense, and more approachable. I have struggled with monster hunter as a series coming from MMO's like Vindictus, FFXIV, and Runescape. It's always felt slow and simple in comparison to the raid mechanics in other big boss battlers. This game cranked the speed up TREMENDOUSLY so you spend more time fighting monsters, and less time simply chasing after them and running from their attacks. Perfect Guard and Perfect Dodge let you stay in the fight and Wounding add room for skill expression and tactical decision making. Very much have enjoyed my time with this title, despite my overall disinterest in the series after playing 4u and World.

If you like Autochess without the randomness, this is a great title

If you like arena survival. this game is one of the best. Without breaking the core game-play principles of the genre it manages to add a tremendous amount of content. Every update holds new items and characters to hunt for an endlessly engaging experience.
