This game looks like a Counter Strike/Valorant clone and it is but its a really good one, it combines the good in both into one awesome game that I now prefer over the games it copies. The gunplay is really good, the graphics are lite yet so crisp and the duality mechanic is so simple yet deep - its all really great.

A lot of people are complaining about crashes, bad performance, matchmaking issues but I can confidently say that those were all fixed within 1 week of release. I really wish it got more funding so they can add more classes, maps, etc.

Give this game a try, its free and I promise you'll love it.

Light and fun game, the levels are interesting and you have some freedom of how you approach them. There are like 20 different ways to kill a guy and if you take the time to learn a level and really try to go as fast as possible, its really satisfying. The music goes hard AF too.

The start is a little slow but after it speeds up there is no dropping this game.

Early Access Review
The enemy AI is very inconsistent, sometimes they will spot you crouching behind a desk, sometimes you will sprint through their room and they instead spot your friend 20 meters away crouching behind a desk. All 3 maps are designed like mazes and are pretty hard to navigate. This means that your average match is 30% running away from the enemies, 20% working on the objective and 50% entering the same 3 rooms over and over until you finally find the way to go. I get what they were going for, mazes and horror games go well together but this game is not really a horror. Its like Dead by Daylight in that sense, after the first 2 matches its not scary anymore, its just a game that's frustrating.

The fun parts of this game are when you are screaming at your friends because they closed a door in your face while you are being chased by a psycho-mutant killer and when you are running an arm wrestling competition in the pre-game lobby. After a couple hours of gameplay you realize that the game contributes almost nothing to this fun and it is just the time spent with your friends that you do enjoy.

The final grade system is broken, I have had games where only 2 people complete all the objectives but because they got hit a couple times, they got the lowest score. The person with the best score was just crouching around and hiding in barrels.

I doubt many people will get good mileage out of Outlast Trials. Although it comes with a good amount of content for an Early Access title, all missions are against AI enemies that are pretty bad at their job. There can only be so many of these missions before the game starts recycling them but with more enemies and more traps which I did not find to contribute to the experience. If you are looking for co-op horror game just give Dead by Daylight a try. In that game, you go against human-controlled enemies which makes the game that much more replayable. I easily sunk 380+ hours in DbD but barely 7 in The Outlast Trials.

Early Access Review
The game brings a lot of fresh ideas to the RTS genre with its deep economic, political and espionage systems but it just feels too slow for me. Just for reference, when two units start fighting, they will take literal minutes to kill each other. Not seconds, minutes. Late game units require you to play close to 30 minutes to unlock and even after you get them, you realize that you still need like 30 seconds of uninterrupted firing to kill something.

It does not scratch that satisfaction of building units and watching them dominate like other RTS games do. The production quality is very high with music, voice acting and visuals being outstanding but none of it matters when the core game is not fun.

Its a relaxing game with charm and an element of satisfaction but there isn't enough content to make it worth the price. Most mechanics are not fleshed out and I did not find an objective to the game.

Viking and dragon attacks are a joke even on harder difficulties, after building one or two archer towers you can leave the game running for 30 minutes and nothing would go wrong.
The AI will send diplomats to your base every 10-ish minutes to ask you for help or share something and you always have 2 dialogue options - one makes them like you, the other one dislike you. About every other encounter in the game goes as deep as that, you need about 2 hours to experience it all.

The game was receiving updates all throughout December and then development suddenly stopped so I don't think it will ever get another update despite the fact that it is currently in an early access-like state.

If you are looking for a relaxing medieval kingdom builder that allows you to make something pretty then this is for you, if you are looking for a city-builder with established mechanics and replayability I would consider getting "They are billions" or something else.
