My first foray into the Elder Scrolls series was with Morrowind (where I, as a stupid child, somehow managed to get save softlocked... don't ask me how, but after it happened I stopped playing those games until Skyrim was released). Initially, with the original Oblivion, I found the playstyle interesting when compared to Skyrim, but the graphics were brutally different which made it hard to play at the time. I hate to say that is the only reason I've hardly played oblivion compared to my family members, but when this released I was incredibly excited. This game fixed the only issues I even had with playing Oblivion: the graphics. I have loved every part of the game so far and I genuinely feel shallow for not wanting to play the original due to subjectively poor graphics (I know many people love them, but I just can't get past them).

While I haven't played enough of the original Oblivion to say whether or not this is a faithful remake, it is one of the greatest releases of any Elder Scrolls game that I've played in my entire time playing (including EVERY release of Skyrim).

Honestly I see a lot of division on whether or not this is a good game, with many comparing it to The Fractured But Whole and The Stick of Truth. I feel that comparing this to those is disingenuous to creating an objective review of this game. (But, if you were to want to compare this to another game in the south park franchise, I'd personally compare it with the N64 first person doomlike game that many people forget about.)

It is certainly fun, but the balance of weapons is lacking, with a single melee and range often being by far the best with no major alternatives (being dagger - or the goth sickles - and the wand).
Would I recommend this to my friends? Yes, if only because its a $30 game, and lasts maybe about 4-6 hours in campaign duration (though hard may take 6-8 if you get poor RNG during missions).

I am going to get hate from this, but part of the reason I like Palworld so much is its similarities to Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Palworld is the perfect blend of PL:A and Fortnite (I know some people compare the building to Ark or Rust, and for machines and crafting benches I can agree, but the actual BUILDING is 100% Fortnite). The world is ripe for exploration, and I can't wait to see where this game ends up going.

Also, this game really makes me want to pick up Pokemon Legends: Arceus again, so Nintendo, realize that some of your fans want to play your games more as a result of a game you call a copycat.

If you want a laid back experience, there are certainly parts of this game that are for you, just don't expect to "complete" the game. If you want a challenge, the randomizer settings and some other world settings are perfect for you. If you want a shoot-em-up, you might be able to enjoy this game a lot, just expect that the farming and base set up that allows for such fun might take some time.

So far I can earnestly give this game a favorable recommendation

This is and will always be one of my favorite games. I grew up with this game, and the hours on this account do not accurately portray the amount of time I've played it for. I cannot, however, recommend this game while Valve sits idly by and lets bots ransack the game. It was already a little upsetting to me to watch valve simply create new cosmetics and rake in money in micro-transactions AND in fees from the community market. There is still so much potential in this game if Valve would just care to deal with their bot issue and actually put time into making new updates.

I was one of the Dungeon-Master tier backers for their Kickstarter and I have never once regretted that decision. Updated frequently and full of features that a DM needs. There are many things I would like to see by the time its out of beta, but as of now I am incredibly happy with how much they've done!
