It was great at first, but I found out that for some reason standable is a culprit that keeps resetting my hips to face another direction and it snaps my head visuals around with the entire body. Sitting down seems to stop it since it locks the hips in place, but I can't give this a thumbs up until some kind of fix is addressed.

UPDATE:

It turns out the problem wasn't with the program, but Quest being a finnicky thing swapping my roomspace configs randomly.

THAT ASIDE Program gud.

While I love everything about the game and the nostalgia it's bringing me, the fact that the thing continiously crashes on me is really bringing me to stop trying with it.

The graphics look bad? That's not my issue, graphics don't matter if a game is good or bad.
Clipping? Meh, not really bothered by it.
Constant crashing for no apparent reason within 15 minutes of starting the game up?
That's just me being unable to enjoy the game. And until that's fixed, thumbs down.

And of course it's not the game, it's my computer. Mine and plenty of others having this issue, who have attacked the problem as a community to try and fix just what's going on, but nothing seems to work.

EDIT: So the reason for the crashing isn't the game, nor is it my computer. Or maybe it is.
It's a conflict between the controller, the game, and Steam Overlay.
Deleating GameOverlayRenderer64.dll actually ended up fixing all my issues, and then some.

So now I can give this a thumbs up and play for more than 20 minutes without crashing. Huzzah.

I really loved where this game was going, but I cannot really give it a positive view anymore.

The directors have left this game on the shelf and it's collected dust. I'm sad to see it go this way, because I was really interested in Starr Mazer the actual game. A friend bought me a spot back when this was being kickstarted to have an NPC in the game.

Saddly, it looks like I'll never get a chance to see that happen.

Love the game.

Only disliking due to the current state of affairs between Fromsoft and Cheaters/Hackers getting innocents punished with their current banning system.

Haven't touched it in so long, I might as well put in my two cents:

While the visual is nice, the visual is nothing unless the game can work properly.

Also, only 15 percent off during the holidays? You really want that money, huh?

While you can consider this a remake of the original NES game, there's still a lot behind it that makes the game new and fresh. You'll encounter familiar places, such as the two bridges over a long way down, and new areas like the castle drawbridge. It's still the shadowgate you love and remember, but also remember that the game is also unrelenting. If you don't think smart, you will die. And you will die often.

The game also has a throw back to the retro shadowgate, including the music, the scrolling text, and even the screen transitions.

Can you find the black axe?
